My Skip Barber Experiance *Pics*
So I had tons of fun at Skip Barber. I went to the three-day racing school. Not the open wheel ones, the madzaspeed mx-5's. They were awesome, of course no where near the speed or agility of any new BMW, but had super brake pads: hawk blue pads i believe they were called. It was at Road Atlanta in Georgia.
We did about a half day of class time and the rest lapping sessions or feedback from the intructors. We did a half day of auto-cross and then a quarterday of heel and toe practice. The intructors were never in the cars with us which was intresting. They all stood at the flag points and could listen and watch as we went along. We had a stop-box after turn 7 way late on the straight away with a guy standing there with a walkie-talkie and the intructors gave us feedback one by one. I would say the most memorable and great experiance there was the braking exercise. After the stright after turn 7 theres a downhill portion and opposite 90 degree turns called 10a and 10b. You're coming down the hill at over 110 and have to get down to second gear. The exercise had us just slam on the brakes and push the clutch down to see really how great the brakes were. And let me tell you, all the students were suprised at how they could brake way later than they expected. It really gave you confidence at every corner to push the car. I also learned how to trail-brake (really helps in corners) not to trail clutch, which causes servere overstreer and not to trail the trottle too much, which also causes oversteer . In the end (sorry for the blocks of text) it was one of the most fun experiances of my life. I would recommend it to anyone, especially the Road Atlanta course. The instructors explained its one of the hardest in the country to master so if you can get it down, the rest should come easy. Anyway without further adue, here are the pics. PS: There is a little bonus at the end that I saw at Braman Motors BMW when my brother went into service his e92 M3 (1200-mile oil change). PPS: I had a video taken of the final 20-mile lapping session which should arrive in about 2-3 weeks. I will post a reply with it when it does arrive Enjoy!

Yeah..I could alway build me another one..but the money allocation has moved to the house..and away from car stuff. So, that conversion to another trackable Miata is going to be slow..very slow.

Great fun I am sure! Want to do that soon on the West Coast. Try their three or five day program next time in their formula cars. A whole new experience as well. The level of excitement is much higher when you are running against equal cars.
