CA car registration license renewal fee

Sooo i just got this in the mail the other day for my 08 e92 335i. The total comes out to be around 350$ (a little over). Is this normal??? i swear last year i was paying at most 150$ for my 325i... The 335i is less than 1 year old. What is the price of the renewal fee based on and how much are you guys paying for your 335i?

that's a really good question. and if they wouldn't take 4 months after the deadline to come up with the state budget maybe we'd have an answer to that question

This sounds correct.

What year is your 325i? My 2000 E46 323i's registration is only $103. I'm assuming your 325i is an E46 model?

Each year, it goes lower and lower as your car ages.

In California, there is a tax on the registration associated with the value of the car. I don't remember the value... maybe a little under 1%. So as the car ages, the registration amount goes down. The good news is that since the registration includes this tax, the taxed value is deductible on your federal income taxes! Not the whole amount of the registration, only the tax amount. You can see that by looking at the breakdown of the registration fees. Congrats on your larger tax write-off.

And that's at the current low rate - it used to be about 2 1/2 times higher and the legislature is still trying to get it back up there.

California doesn't require a separate yearly excise tax on cars; it is included in the registration which is why it is high.

I hate all of you. Colorado 08 335xi new. $950 for the year. Each year it's based on a depreciate value. Next year it will still probably be low $800's. what a f ing rip off considering last year I blew three tires in pot holes. Love to see what my money is going for.

Heck...I have a 16' flat bed trailer that is $5.30/year. Extra dollar if I mail it in.
