Walnut Blasting 328xi (non-turbo)
I've been trying to research walnut blasting and whether or not it'd be advantageous to have done to my car. Looking through posts here, it appears that everyone who's had a walnut blast has a turbo'd 335i(x). Is the need for a walnut blast significantly higher with turbo cars? Would it have any advantage on a non-turbo 328?
Thanks |

Walnut blasting isn't necessary on the 328i. The 328i fuel injectors are behind the valves, so the backs of the valves get cleaned by the fuel passing by them. The 335i uses direct injection, so the fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion chamber and bypasses the valves. Carbon builds up on the backside of the valves since fuel doesn't flow by them to keep them clean.

I mean seriously, I've been waiting for over a month for the driveshaft center bearing. Everyday the sun comes up is another opportunity to be disappointed in BMW and lose faith in the brand.
