Aux fan spooling up with heater???
Hey guys,
I got into my 2007 328xi w/ 80k, and all was normal until I turned the heater on because it was cold this morning. As soon as I did that the auxiliary fan spooled up, went off, and it has continued this pattern all morning. If I shut the heater off the aux fan immediately shuts off. I have no SES or warning lights of any sort. The coolant is also topped off. Any ideas what might be causing this? I was going to guess a water pump, but whether or not the heater is on is irrelevant if that was the case. I stumped the tech at the dealer this morning too. :-( Thanks guys! Yup. That's the infamous water pump failure.
Happened to me last month. I brought it to the dealer without taking my mods off (except the intake), and they warrantied it without question. |
