So the lower line is your previous map then?
Too bad the measured engine torque is not on there, do you know what drivetrain loss they calculated? Please test the 0-100 I'm really curious to see how it improved If you have a clean road that is, don't go slipping off and landing in a ditch It's snowing here again so all that power is pretty useless

yes i tested once the acceleration but on icy road :/
tyre´s metal pin´s scratching the road :/ not going to do that again before summer tyres...well major wheel spinning against icy road 1.nd 2.nd but still managed to get exactly the same time as best on last summer 14.3s ~6.2s 0-100 km/h...not going to be a problem to get under 6s and under 14s with summer condition and summer wheels. -kai |

I've driven about 22000km with ESS tuning on my ex 325d 2008. Really nice software. I also had Ferrita Sweden to install a new exhaust on my car.
About 280 bhp and over 600NM they told me... I dont really know, but my car was faster than both original 335d and 535d's... Anyway. Now I've just got my new 325d Touring 2010 instead. So now i'll get VTech software instead just to try it out. They promise 290 bhp and 625 NM for BMW 325d... Well i have to get that on a Dyno when its installed!

325d injectors give only about the 270hp not more, see my dyno what happened when trying to get more (the lower line)...325d standard injectors just cant give more fuel. but i believe when you show me 1/4 mile time official time paper...then no one can argue about anything ps.i got last summer official 1/4 mile time at airport,i advice doing so....i am a little tired of everybody just looking the numbers. |

light tyres vs wide and heavier tyres?
Hi
Now i really need some good advice! Now i have for this summer: ATS DTC wheels 17x7.5 7.6 kg 225/45/17 tyres 9.0 kg BUT what if i would have rear: ATS DTC wheels 17x9 8.2 kg 255/40/17 tyres 11.8 kg so..... --------------------- 255 and 9.5" 20 kg 225 and 7.5" 16.6 kg --------------------- in rear, left and right:3.4 kg lighter weight vs heavier weight but more grip.... really dont know which one would be the right decision??? |

Lighter wheels would help on the corners but I think because they're narrower you're losing too much traction. And since the suspension is designed for the heavier wheels it would need to be adjusted for lighter wheels probably as well.

i have major wheels spinning when driving 400m time or from starting from 0 km/h up..and car´s rear slip when driving on race track..i thing (guess) the 255´s would help on these things. I did have BMW sport suspension 15/15mm but now i have Eibach 30/25 and much more harder ride...in a good way and sometimes in a bad way when on bumpy roads |

0-100kph is a waste of time, 0-160kph is the time we want to see.

But many cars do similar 0-100kph, then the faster car goes on to post a much faster 0-160kph time.

Hello guys very interesting thread !!!
I have put a Power Box ( buy on www.nrjcar.com ) with a potentiometer that i have to turn. The result is very great. i think its about 240hp but its just my personnal feeling. I have make some test: 0-180 km/h = 19s 0-200 km/h = 25s Do you think its better to do a real remap ? ( i want this 260hp or 270hp ) What is the difference between power box and remap ? @ paapaa : can you make some chrono ? 0-180 and 0-200 thx

15-16sec this morning in the rain. Lots of wheelspin.
Will have to try again when it's dry

So it injects some more, pretty bad way of enhancing performance if you ask me. There's more advanced ones, but those are very expensive. A good remap rewrites the engine performance programming completely. Taking into account fuel, air, turbo pressure, valve timing etc. The result is much better, probably less engine wear as well so safer. Downside is it can be overwritten by a software update, but if you have a good tuner they'll remap it again for a small fee. Also, go for a tuner that gives a before and after dyno print. How else can you be sure you got what you paid for?

ESS 288 hp 325d
Just a review here after almost 3 years (90.000 kilometres) driving a manual 325d with ESS remap. Car is sold now.
It was purely a remap, nothing else. Exhaust and DPF standard. Dyno showed 245 rear wheel horsepower, equals 288 crank horsepower. Calculated torque at 2800 rpm 660 NM. Car ran perfect, and with the rev limiter moved to 5200 rpm made the car very flexible with the manual gearbox and a lot like driving a petrol car. No trouble with Diesel particular filter, and the power stayed the same the whole period. Car used 6.6 litres average per 100 kilometres, very good. On longer trips I could average 4.3 litres per 100 kilometres. A lot of people in this forum did not believe this remap was possible. And some people said it would not last. It did :-) Car indicated 268 km/hour at the autobahn on the straights, I calculated it to be real 260 km/h. At the Nurburgring I managed an indicated 200 km/h up through Kesselchen (the long uphill after Bergwerk) Perfect map, miss that car! |

Having driven a 320d today anybody appreciating refinement will like the 325d. Even my 65 year old mother who has never driven in her life commented on the rough sound of the engine in comparison to my 6 cylinder car ( albeit a 335d)
