Who care? I were using RP for at least half year and I found that it is much better than so-called official engine oil castrol/shell.

Fine, if you stick with the so-called engine oil for the rest of your life, it is fine to you. In Hong Kong, the dealer is not offered the Castrol engine oild which is appointed as official engine oil, even the cap has engrave with castrol as well, BUT, they offered and even now using Shell's engine oil, in this way, do u think the dealer is also done something wrong to us?

If the Shell oil is not BMW approved then yes your dealer is an idiot and unscrupulous - like many BMW dealers. If the Shell oil is LL-04 approved then it's perfectly fine to use. Castrol LL-04 oil is not a requirement. You can use any brand of BMW LL-04 approved oil in your engine.

But my question is how did you objectively determined that Royal Purple met BMW's LL-04 oil requirements and/or was "much better" than the BMW approved oils? I suspect you've been duped by Royal Purple ad hype unless you've had BMW conduct the LL-04 oil sequence test, which I doubt you have. It's unfortunate but many enthusiasts get duped by oil ad hype.

How about LL-28 oil requirements? Is it better?
