Valuation advice
Hi chaps
Just sold my 05 plate 630i to get something a bit cheaper following arrival of my second child. I'm looking at this car on EBay, checking out history etc. what do you guys think is a fair price if it all checks out? I'm not that clued up on valuations! http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...obalID=EBAY-GB 2006 BMW 320I M SPORT BLACK Alternatively I may look at this 330i as I don't know if I may find the drop in speed a bit disappointing. It's only for my daily urban commute of 12 miles each way so speed isn't vital but it would be nice. My top budget is £5200 for any car. This car only has part SH, and last service was 11k ago which concerns me. Their both nice cars. I was trying to decide between the two a few years ago and I ended up buying a 330i. As I do a lot of motorway driving my MPG isn't too bad. However the odd times when I do use my car for solid urban driving, the MPG seriously drops to around 17mpg. However if you can deal with that, go for the 330i, its a lovely daily drive.
If you want reduce costs though, go for the 320i. Check out Fuelly in my signature, you'll be able to see what sort of MPG people are getting with their models. |

330i looks ok part service history would worry me and next service looks to be spark plugs.
When I was looking the nicer 330i were around the 6-7k mark starting. In the end went for a 335i, but is would def go with a 330i. |

Looking at both the 330i is a better option, looks clean and not messed around. Yes it appears a service has been missed. But for sure the car didn't drive 30k one he same oil. I guess this would be obvious when you start the engine up. Have you asked the question? I would offer a lower amount to take into account the extra work it may need.

Thanks for all the replies chaps, I did own a 330i a couple of years ago and I did really like it. Sounds like I should go for one of those. What do you think about the 325i engine, any good? I saw this as well and may investigate furthers.

Money's best put I'd say in to a nice 330i/325i, we see a fair few 320i's on the surface the draws fuel economy, lower tax and on paper lower running costs.
Let me tell you the 320i's not that different to run on the fuel economy side of things sure there's a difference but its smaller than you think, the biggest thing I'd say is the 320's we've seen and we've seen a good few burn bigger holes in your pocket than 330i's. From Nix Oxide sensors which are as you'll see on these pages fairly common, due in my expierience to poor quality fuel to running these cars too low on fuel (tank ventallation fault will be bought on) to CBS servicing issue, not directly placed at the users door but perhaps the end user doing low mileage and as a result oils staying in the sump for in many cases over 2 years with ease and as a result we've seen a fair bit of this oil contaminaion due to CBS servicing and low mileage along with slack chain's, chain guide issues and vanos issues, the above car for your information had done just over 30k was an 09 plate and had 2 oils services both done by a main BMW dealer. We've seen going slightly off subject a fair few 116i's with the same issues along with inlet vanos issues(inlet is hydrauliclly operated)due to the above they aren't or do not seem to be as durable as a good 325/330i these engines will take a bit of lack of TLC the 320i's as an example simply won't tollerate it, as the others have pointed out place your thoughts on a nice 330i or a 325i enjoy 6 cylinders you'll be better off long term with one of these |

Enquiring on this one. Not a huge fan of the grey interior, but low mileage and one owner. Looks like value
