Torx Screw for Bumper, Spins
2008 e92 328xi
So I was trying to remove the 4 Torx screw that hold on the bumper in on the top. The two inside ones came out fine, but the other outside two were almost impossible to get loose. I eventually got them, but with each, I heard a crack type of noise. One came out, but won't go back in, while the last one I need to remove has been spinning and spinning. I assume what happened was that I broke off the nuts that are on the underside of the screws, so the nut one the one still in, is just spinning with the screw as I try to get it out. I'm nearing my mental capacity with trying to get it out, I have had a pry bar under it trying to give upward pressure as I unscrew it, no luck. I thought maybe I could simply go below and hold the nut while I unscrew the Torx, but it looks like it is all boxed off in every direction. There doesn't seem to be a way of access. If anybody has any ideas, or has had this happen before, I would love any help. Also I'm new here so if I don't know how to use some functions please cut me a little slack. Thank you so much! Nice to finally be able to see what is actually happening under there. Literally the exact same situation happened with me, same side too lol. Looks like I'm just going to cut the head off.
I'm not sure how that thread didn't come up when I was searching, but oh well. Thanks again! |
