1M IKM0S on IJE0S Hardware

Curious if anyone has ever run the stock IKM0S 1M tune on their 335i? I tried it and love the throttle response, it's much better than IJE0S with the 1m settings from MHD. However I noticed much higher fuel trims, here's a log:

https://datazap.me/u/tej98/1m-tune-3...ata=3-21-22-23

Curious if anyone has noticed anything similar or has any suggestions? I'll be swapping back to MHD IJE0S tunes now after seeing this trim issue, but was definitely still curious. Thanks!

The fuel trims could be reduced by raising the fuel scalars on the bin file

Yes, but that did not work for me! I learned from someone on spool street that the bin in the repo is a much older revision and did not set LTFTs properly and contributed to cold start running issues. After switching to the latest revision from a thread on spool street everything works perfectly again and I'm able to use that as a base for tuning.

Have you had experience with the map switch base IKM0S in that repo?

I remember seeing that thread. My main issue (may be it’s not an issue) is that I have a nexsys oil pressure sensor that needs to be enabled on MHD. It was my understanding that I need the bin files from that repo (map switching) to be able to do that , and that a plain bin wouldn’t work.

What’s your situation ? Are you able to change any of the “settings” though MHD? Things like wastage rattle fix, dp fix etc

I have the nexsys oil pressure sensor aswell, you just need to enable it in MHD's options if your all hooked up correctly.

You can still apply any mhds options even if your use a custom map. If thats what you mean?

yeah that's what I mean. what you said is correct is as long as use a specific IKM0S bin with those tables added? or would the original bin work fine ?

I will give it another try. Last time I flashed IKM0S, my STFT would max out and the car starts leaning out. It just didn't run well, so I flashed back to IJE0S and trims are back to normal. This was on the same tank of fuel/hardware.

This is the exact issue I had with the map switch base IKM0S bin. TiAgAu helped me out with that. I believe the map switch base bin in the repo might be incorrect or old.

Yes the IKM0S that was provided in the github was the wrong version. Though I believe its been updated 7 months ago with a different version because it looks like even I am using a different version.

Ill look deeper into it and figure out which one is preferred because maps like
Real maximum and minimum lambda measurement time and Amplitude measurement start delay of linear lambda dynamics diagnosis are vastly different between the two.

For reference tej98 you (your rev8) and I were running the same version of IKM0S. And yes TiAgAu is correct. Any bin is technically compatible with MHD+, the difference is whether or not they're pre modified for it.

KClemente so basically a pre-modified has one benefit and that is the ability to make changes to those extra tables in TunerPro. Versus a raw bin where those tables aren't exposed ?

marv85 The only benefit the pre-modified one has is that you don't have to modify every single MHD+ map. The necessary tables are exposed by using the mapswitch xdf.

The way MHD+ works is by "stealing" space by deprecating redundant to semi-redundant maps.

For example, Fuel (bank 2) and Fuel trim (bank 2) has been deprecated and not used anymore. That extra space is now used for one of the maps for the map-switching function.

If you are making custom tunes and have MHD app v3.0 and above you must use the Mapswitch xdf.

KClemente thanks! Given the doubt we have on the map switching bins, would flashing the known good bins from sp ool, then using MHD to create a backup of the bin result in a modified bin ? or would it just dump exactly what I flashed.

Circling back, I finally flashed the "good" bin this morning and so far so good. Car pulls strong, fuel trims are OK, I'm able to use the oil pressure sensor. Thank you for the advice

TiAgAu few questions:
1- I'm getting 2FA3 no coding. anyway to fix it? I have protools if there's something to be coded. or is it a matter of disabling the code in the bin?
2- I'm getting a fault for the lack of M button. Does anyone have a modified bin that disables it? any issues with running with this code?

Sure both of those can be disabled. Still using the stock ikm0s?
