Excessive vibration at idle(no codes)

Hey, guys, thank you very much first off all for being there whenever help is needed. While I do know this is an e90 post, I do apologize in advance as my car is e70 x5 35D. This is just a more active section so I figured Iíd try my luck here(mods please forgive me 0 ). I have a 2012 35D with 92xxx miles and had this car since 84k and it always had this weird issue of excessive vibration at idle with no codes. Once I start driving it goes away, every time I stop(doesnít matter P or D) it comes back. I can feel it in the pedal and steering wheel. I remember reading somewhere that the motor mounts are vacuum controlled(?) and thereís a TIS to reprogrammed the module which gets stuck in highway mode causing excessive vibration, but not really sure if thatís the case and canít find that thread. So here I am. Thank you for your help!

I mean, there's a very very small chance that it's that... But theres a way bigger chance that your harmonic balancer is beginning to fall and the rubber is separating. My car did it at the same mileage just about, if it is, it's not really that hard of a job to do yourself. And if you can afford it, get the upgraded fluidampr kit and you'll never have to do it again.. just look into the engine bay, if it smells like rubber at all or if you feel the rubber is separating in the balancer that very well could be it.

Also check your exhaust mounts, my cars pretty slammed and I'm constantly flighting my rubber hangers moving and shifting. It may shake excessively at idle or even be rubbing.

I woulsnt recommend the fluidamper IMO. Too many people have removed them just to replace their faulty units.

Iíd start with replacing those vac lines on the mounts, Cheapest route. Since it goes away once the revs goes up itís probably motor mounts tbh.

I agree with everyone else sounds like HD you'll be amazed at how many vibrations go away. My entire dash use to vibrate in my 335d.

Also while you're in there I would also do clutched alternator pulley, thermostat, water pump, and both belts

the vibrations smooth out naturally as you go up in rpm meaning the HD doesn't have to dampen as much. So it can still be the HD

I have this same issue, a very light steering wheel vibration when stopped in drive. Ill take a look at the balancer.
