Resetting FRM87 Tail light 2
Dear coding masters,
My 330i developed a tail light error on both left and right tail light 2 bulbs. I replaced the bulbs and then the housings and still no go. Figured I hit the "deactivated circuit" count. So I started my coding search. I followed instructions posted by others. Esp sd*********'s post: load Tool32 - Load SGBD, Group File (File, Load SGBD) - Load For FRM1, use FRM_87.prg / For FRM2 or FRM3, use FRM_70.prg - About a 1/3 of the way up from the bottom, select the job "_reset_kurzschluss_sperre." - Now enter your lamp ID or "argument" into the field. The checkbox for "Data" does NOT need to be checked off. If the job does not execute properly, you can try ticking this box. - Job, Start Job once only So here are my attempts. The IPNA memory error Then I attempted the following in Tool32 But to be sure it wasn't bc I tried to reset both at the same time, I reset them individually. I then cleared the error but alas 0x13 and 0x14 are still not working. Maybe I'm missing something? |

I assume you have an e90 correct? It's the brake light bulb that you replaced or does the actual tail light that comes on during night time have it's own bulb? I know the LCI's have led strips which is a bit different.
Try resetting 0x11 and 0x12 too |

It's the "brake force" bulb Either the one arrow-ed or next to it. I'll give 0x11 and 0x12 a try! Thanks! |

Also if it continue to give you a headache, use ISTA and test plan the brake lights in troubleshooting area. It'll manually turn on the tail lights and brake lights. If it doesn't manually turn on via ISTA then either you replaced the wrong bulb or there's another issue but it's not short circuit counter. |

So reviving this bc the errors I encountered ended up being the damn lights in the trunk lid.
The ends of the light bulbs were worn out from power cycling and age. Thanks to all that offered suggestions! |
