Unknown Flash, safe to over write?

Hey everyone, been a fan of the 335i platform since I drove one waaaaaaaay back in 2007 when my E46 325i was at a dealer for an oil change, but circumstances never put me into one until now. Along the way I've had a few other cars, but eventually I found my way back into a 335is.

My plan is to get it single turbo'd here before year end (we'll see how well that plays out) but in the process of getting ready for it, I picked up the MHD flasher app just to get some info and see how the car was running, and be ready for a BEF when the JB4 shows up. When I was getting it PPId, the shop said they were pretty sure it had a tune already, as it pulled a bit harder than some of the other stock 335ises (iss?) he's driven. When i checked tonight using the MHD app, it does show boost after throttle hitting and sitting at 17psi. AFRs looked solid.

When I checked the DME info, the MHD app listed last known flash as "Unknown", so I don't think it was an MHD flash. If I want to flash to stock would it be safe to do the "stock" flash in the app? Or should I try to clone the stock DME before trying anything at this point? I'm planning on getting some logs tomorrow night for the check my log thread.

You'll be fine flashing to stock with MHD if you want to pull the tune off now. No harm will come to the DME and MHD has the newest stock files anyways.

Woot. Makes me feel a little better. I'm pretty sure that the flash running right now is safe enough, but I'd like to keep it closer to stock until I can get some of the go fast stuff on it.

Save a copy of the current flash before making changes if you’re able to. All the more so as you seem pleased with current tune but want to dial it back for now, could come in handy as a reference.
