Cleveland independent shops for customer-provided parts?
New to the BMW scene, so I'm interested in recommendations for Cleveland-area shops (east side, preferably) that will let me bring my own parts/supplies. There's one place I worked with when I had my Saabaru, but the e93 is a good bit more advanced of a machine, and they may not be up for some jobs. Right now I'm shopping around a full suspension rebuild, and some engine work that's more labor intensive than I care to get into.

Welcome aboard.
Try Koala Motorsport http://www.koalamotorsport.com Had work done on our Mini Cooper there, not sure if Brett will let you bring you own parts/supplies. Here is a list of others in Ohio: http://www.bimmershops.com/bmwshops/ohio/

I've heard good things about Europa Auto Care. I've also had decent experience on my first trip to see Swedish Solution in CLE Heights. I may go back down there when it comes time to add my Stage 2 turbo.

Thanks guys. Got a quote back from Simons Auto Service in Cleveland Heights, requested a quote from Koala, and will be stopping by Larchemere on Tuesday for an in-person quote (and talking to Classic BMW). Will report back with what I find!

Simons only quoted a chemical clean, as did Larchmere. At Koala now, they'd do either, with walnut cleaning costing about $900! It's cheaper at the dealership (Classic BMW). Calling around to a few other shops in a larger area, apparently this is an unusual service (despite all the new direct injected engines running around)

I know this is half years ago. My SA in dave walter bmw told me $550 for walnut shell blasting last year. Yesterday lerich told me $680 for walnut shell blasting.
I have a question though, does koala do down pipes? Lerich told me they can't do catless down pipes. |
