I have downloaded the road map europe 2023, inserted in the USB of FAT32 format but nothing happens when I insert in glove box in bmw 520 series. am i missing anything? what should be in the root? I got following in the usb root - pkgdb folder, config.nfm

Just the pkgdb folder and config.nfm file in Root of Fat32 Formatted USB 2.0 Drive.

It is as you suggested and FAT32 formatted USB 2.0 - However, it is in MMC Reader USB device. So it's a memory card of 32 GB which shouldn't make difference. Am I missing anything else? I managed to get the 1b file as well.

I would not use SD Card. Use a traditional USB Drive.

Yes, i've not had much luck when using cards and convertors.

Currently map version: 01.00.0004 Road Map JAPAN Next 2012-2
Need the New Zealand Next 2023 maps please...

Will try generating the lifetime FSC code using the methods shown in this post over the Easter break.

You can't just load a non-Asian map in an Asian Head Unit. You need to convert NBT to ECE first. PM sent.

USB 1B Script only works with CIC Head Unit. You have CHAMP2 Head Unit. Must pull 1B with software and a Cable.

If you have F-Series car, then E-Sys and ENET Cable.

In case anyone needs I'll share again in this post:

Used these steps to retrieve:

FSC Extended

Base variant 0x63 (For HU_CIC or HU_NBT)
Click Identify
Application ID 0x1B for (App ID 27 for CIC) 0xDE (App ID222 for NBT) <--- This is the App for your Nav enabler
Upgrade Index 0x1

Move Store FSC from the left to the right
Click Read
Click Save and name the file FXXXXXX_0001B001.fsc for CIC or FXXXXXX_000DE001.fsc for NBT where FXXXXXX is your VIN.

You have CIC. Are you using Glovebox USB Port, not Armrest USB Port?

Yep, glove box USB, brand new USB-stick formatted in FAT32, waited for the NAV to fully boot and then inserted the USB. Two minutes later, still nothing. Tried this several times. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

I have an enet cable and e-sys. Could you help me with the data I need to put in to pull the file this way?

E=Sys => FSC Extended:

In the Parameter section, enter:
1. Diagnostic Address (hex) = 0x63
2. Click on the Identify button and the Base variant HU_CICwill be populated
3. Application ID for NBT= 0x1B
4. Upgrade Index = 0x1

In the Action section:
5. Select Store FSC and move from left to the right
6. Click on the Read button
7. Click Save and name the file in the following formatXXXXXXX.fsc where XXXXXXX is last seven letters/numbers of your VIN
