right map for my mods?

hey guys what map should i be on to ensure maximum reliability for say 100k+milage so i dont want to run something that gives lots of limp modes or anything to extreme yet i would like maximum perfectly safe power
Current mods
jb3
bms dual cone
ar coated downpipes

i will add these soon

intercooler (coming in the summer for now its very cold here i dont think i need one in the winter)
forge dvs or tial bov coming in couple weeks

If on 93 octane you can do map 4/5 and if on 91 octane go for map 2/3

catted or catless?

I just recently installed some aftermarket DVs (Riss Racing) and am really surprised at what I was missing without them. You'll agree once you upgrade ......

w/ supporting mods you are fine.. you stated longevity though and that really has little to do with the tune, more the way you drive.

NICE.

I was a skeptic before the install, but no longer. The boost definitely stays in place with little to no loss between shifts.

LOL, it was like driving with a new tune all over again. Still impresses me now & then.

Boxter:

Definitely go with the dDVs & the FMIC. Then you can virtually take advantage of whatever map you like if you don't plan on keeping the car past warranty expiration.

Otherwise, I wouldn't play with more than Map 7. Just like the rest of us though ........ once you get a taste of what's available (RWHP!!!) you lose the will to stop.

You can run on MAP 7 safely. If you only filling up with good quality RdON 93 gas since MAP 7 advances ignition timing and air to fuel % mix. Anything below RdON 93 can create a knock and prolonged engine knock..... engine . Plus you must have DPs and FMIC. MUST have Oil Cooler if you're planning to do lots of WOT on Hot days. Nice to have to complement MAP 5 or 7 DV or BOV, OCC and Charge Pipe to reduce chance of blow off that leads to ---->

When the N54 shows knock its not an actual knock (thats reported through BT cable and ECU as "Superknock")
the knock sensor is calibrated to prevent knock from happening way before . Since timings can be pulled in one cycle the event of Real knock / Superknock is almost impossible or at least there must be something seriously wrong in the engine for that to happen.

Even with JB3 ECU remapping ...

yes of course. The knock sensor has nothing to do with JB3 or any other tune.

JB3 doesn't alter timing, it is the ECU that adapts with his knock sensor....

So no way that JB3 adds timing to the stock ECU tables.

Yeah, I do. I never realized the added benefits to installing aftermarket dv's over the OEM.
