So I went to see a client last night in Mirabel. I just love driving my car in this weather. (Heavy snowfall). Happy I was home without incident... If only I could be alone on the roads, I would be driving all night.

Now maybe I'm a bit early... ok I know I'm early! But I've been thinking of next year's tracking season.

It's a good thing time flies because it would be hell if it didn't.
We will need to figure out what tracking events are already organized for 2011.

Thanks for the heads up... I will post them on the list but not in bold since they are well over 10 hours of driving away...

Makes sense. The Mid-Ohio track will be my target this year along with VIR. If you are up to it, I'd like to schedule a few interesting new location this year. It would be nice to try out WG, VIR, Montecello, Mid-Ohio, Mosport and perhaps another as well, not to forget LCMT and CMP. That will have lock me up for my min 9-10 sessions excluding ICAR.

Watkins Glen : for sure
Mosport : most probable,
Mid-Ohio, VIR, Limerock : maybe

Monticello : No luck they have screwed up last year by renting the track to outside clubs too often (16 days instead of the contracted 8), So private members are pissed. No chance this year for an event there

LCMT : a couple of times
CMP : a couple of times

ICAR : I'll pass

I will probably do more than I had predicted. 6 events for 12 to 15 days plus traveling. We will start scheduling all this in January - February.

Question

I just bought a set of OEMs with new PS2s wrapped around them. Will they be a better combo for track than my OZs with Starpecs?

my PS2s are 245 front and 255 rear.
my Starspecs are 235 front 265 rear.

I also have a set of unmounted Bridgestone RE050 Pole Positions 225F and 255R

The SS Z1 are better rubber for stickiness, but the PS2s arent that too far off. The RE050 are just ok. PS2s and SS Z1s are the better bet.

I dont know the MCoupe well. For the most part front mounted engine cars are just about always balanced with the bias towards the front. Having the rear wheels wider than the front introduces understeer.

Likely a square setup will be more favourable than a staggered one. What do the other MCoupers do for setup?

Brother Antoine; the E86 ain't the most popular vehicle out there, but most articles that I read (from what slim pickings there were) point to running square. No empirical science on track results unfortunately.

Edit: Hmmm http://www.mymcoupe.com - this fellow is super staggered.

Personally I still think the square setup will be the way to go.

So I guess next year I'll track the PS2s on OEM and daily drive the SS Z1s on OZ.
That will make Chris happy.

The PS2s are the closest to square I have now.

Thanks for the research. I had seen that website also. Like you say... not many out there.

Tony,

As Joel said about the tires!

I have a suggestion about the list to differentiate between schools and tracking. In Blue color HPDE Schools, In Red or Fuschia Tracking. I think you have the right idea about Bolding for those within 6 hours drive, and not bolding for those in excess of 6 hrs drive!

Thanks for doing this!

I think my track events will again be limited to 5-6 days! average of 1 day per month! I kind of enjoy it this way, no real need to go the fastest possible............only when I feel like it!

And if you have no use for the RE050, you can donate to the Kenneth foundation....

I will need them in the future. I go through loads of tires now.

Hopefully we'll track together next year... We have done less of that lately
