Will my E46 wheels/tires fit on a E90?
I have 18" BBS RGR.
They currently have 235/40-18 on them, but I can always change the tire size. So will the wheel & tires fit, or wheels with 225/40-18, or nothing? Thanks. |

E46 offfset is ET47 front ET50 rear for 18" wheels
E90 offset is ET34 front and ET 37 rear for 18" wheels Thats a 13mm difference or just over half an inch |

His 18x8.5 wheel which has an offset of 38, compared to the e90 stock 18x8 offset 34 comes to a 2mm difference.. which is basicly a perfect fit. |

hmmm...
My dealership didn't know. Maybe I'll call BMWNA.
Thanks for the replies all. Your offset argument sounds good, but I'm not sure we'll know for sure until the Tirerack says so or someone mounts some. |

Well, alright.
That's a great endorsement and great news. I wonder if the dealer will let me test drive the car with my wheels on?? They'd probably have me led away in handcuffs. I am going to try and test drive a 325i with SP and 5 speed this afternoon. I think my wheels would look kewl on a black one. I can't afford a 330i, but I have to consider a 325i with the lease rates as they are. but I digress... Thanks again all. |

I asker the dealership to verify this.
The salesman asked the master tech and he said that he said, "they threw some E46 wheels on an E90 and they fit, but it looked like whenever you hit a bump they'd hit the shock tower." So..... I know never trust the dealer, but... |

Just one more update...
While my dealership still will not admit my wheels will fit, I did get a reply email from a Tirerack employee stating that the wheels should fit fine! That takes care of the 325i sp w/17" problem. Now to find a spare! |

We put a set of 18x8.5 and 18x10 staggered BBS CH on our project E90 today and they fit with no problems at all. No fender rolling even! The 18" is a little small I think, have a set of 19" we will put on next week. I will have pictures up on the projects page soon.

No fender rolling? How wide are the tires in the rear? 275/40/18? Is that with a drop or not?
Definately let us know when you slap those 19s on!

I had the same question except I am thinking of using my E46 style 44 8 inch wheels with 225/45/17 tires and mounted on new run flat snow tires on my new 2006 330i. The standard 159 wheels on the 2006 are also 8 inch and 225/45/17. The wheel offset on the style 44 wheels is 47 and the wheel offset on the style 159 is 34.
When I entered in the data on the attached calculation it came back with "based on your stock wheel setup, your new wheel will have 13mm less clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will retract 13mm". What does this mean? Will my E46 style 44 wheels with 225/45/17 snow tires fit on my 2006 330i? Do I have the option of changing the tire size for my snow tires on the style 44 wheels if the 225/45/17 snow tires do not fit the 2006 330i? Thanks for any help you can offer! 265 on 19", no roll for now. Not sure what will happen when we get a chance to put the suspension on.

17" DO NOT FIT ON A 330. The barrel is too small to fit the brakes in most cases. Some wheels I am sure will work, but not all. |

Hmmm. Stock wheels on non-SP E90 330i are 17''s, so at least SOME will fit, you are right. |

Point taken... But seriously, I would guess it was a design consideration for those wheel styles. The E36 M3 wheel I tried didn't fit. BMW stock wheel barrels are typically not large. BBS are a little better, but still not huge. On the other hand, the Team Dynamics we sell would probably fit with a 16" size - they are huge.

E 46 318i wheels to E90 325i ???
I have 16 inch winter wheels from my e46 318i. Will they fit on my new E90 325i touring? I've had different answers from BMW dealers here in Sweden, some definitely say not others say no problem. Anyone got a definitive answer??
