Who's driven Donington?

I'm booked in for a brief Lotus Elise experience in July and was wondering if anyone else had driven the circuit?

Not driven it, but know enough bout the place.

YOU WILL LOVE IT

one of the best tracks in the UK... This is where the British Grand prix should be held, not that shitsie silver-shight place!

Great corners, you will love the craners!

Not in real life ... I've driven it plenty on my PC

What's the Lotus Elise experience then? I'm still debating buying a 111s right now. I put an offer in for one yesterday, but am getting cold feet.

You basically get a bit of tuition etc and then a few laps in either an elise or an exige round Donny. I picked up a cheap voucher ages ago.

I'll be practising on my PC too.

I've driven the B2039 and the A3 a few times. Even the odd jaunt along the M4. Not Donington though...

Yup, years ago in a formula Vauxhall single seater and LOVED IT. I've also been around there in a Ferrari 360CS.

One thing, listen to the instructors when they talk about Crainer Curves. I've seen so many cars off there it's unreal! (including a guy who was caught out and ended up flipping his M3). Basically the camber and hill unload the steering badly, if you get it wrong and clip the curb, you're going high side!

Yeah, I've driven it (and the M4, spooky) - Nathan is right about Craner, also go steady round the Melbourne Loop. lets face it it even catches top drivers out...

That, and it's RIGHT under the pits where everyone's watching

I've been round it a few times in my Z4 and once in the Radical. but made a mistake and went there with the Rad on a "cheep" day. my warning is dont do cheap track days..... chavs can afford them and they are like lemmings! in 3 x 20 minute sessions i did 4 laps in those 3 sessions and 2 were out laps form the pits.

on a track day they normally dont use the melbourne loop, its used as a staging area.

its good fun and i have attached a video so you can learn the track... LOL

I've done dozens of trackdays there in cars and on my bike(s). It's a great place and the Craners are fantastic. Most tricky corner to master is Coppice, due to the blind turn-in point over a crest.

My best day there in the car was a few years back. It was raining and I was in my E39 M5. Spent all session(s) beasting Caterhams, Scoobies, Evos and Cossies. Fantastic memories. Also got myself on TV for one of those car progs. Pulling Power I think it was.

It's a great place. You'll have a ball

Matt

I may have to set-up a little 'play area' in which you can both to have your little 'tustles'.

Now, anymore of this & I will be giving you BOTH a slap.

Oh...& I don't care who started it.
