I believe the mdct knob from the m3 is the same SMG shift knob as on the m5/m6 - this kit

Hi guys can some one tell me how easy to fit the SMG knob without have it light up is it just the case of remove the old one and fit the SMG or is it more complicated than that ? I current knob is scratched and would like to get a SMG knob this week if it is a direct replacement Then worry about getting it to light up when the kit is ready , also would it be better to get the SMG knob from the M3 or M5 ? sorry for all the questions

I gotta be the first though.. I've been working on this since the summer. Just never got it done. because I just left the shiftknob to sit at the shop.
