So am I lol. They keep telling me "we'll be up there in a few weeks." I think they need some motivation. I showed them this thread a while ago maybe I send them the link again. There seems to be a lot of people who want to do this. Or maybe I should start a new thread because there are a lot of people who would dare click it lol.

Any updates on this would be great. I've been holding off on the purchase until I hear something back from you.

I've been playing nice too long. I'll turn up the heat and hopefully get some results.

It's actually really simple. You just need the parts which you can get from a number of vendors like www.getbmwparts.com. You need the intake manifold, the 2 DISA valves, a new gasket set, and the screws to attatch the motors to the manifold. There's also a new PCV hose you need as well. Lastly you need new engine software which any tuner can help you with. I'm trying to get a package together but my tuner is slacking off a bit.

Putting the hardware together seems easy enough, but over the last 4 years it has proven near impossible to unlock the potential 330i performance out of the E90's ECU.

I have been holding out and waiting for a miracle!!!

Please don't disapoint me again... you have no idea how many heartbreak threads I've gone through on this forum that have the promise of a chip or performance part that will unlock the potential of the N52, and there is still no one yet to deliver...

Having a 325i is a little sad. E90's were only produced for a year, what chance do we have for continued aftermarket development for our cars.

If they nail this one thing I can happily keep my car until I, or the car dies.

If someone who has a 330 would like to drive my car send me a PM. The manifold and software work. The throttle tuning is off not the ignition and fuel mapping. It's pretty fast as far as the N52 goes. If youre expecting to outrun 335s, don't waste your money.

Any chance you'll be able to post some dyno numbers?

Would you say the improvement puts you into 330 territory? I would seriously be happy with that...

Any chance you'd be willing to do a write up? I'm about ready to follow suit here.

The custom tune I'm supposed to be getting includes dyno runs. I didn't really want to dyno it until I got the tune. Kinda seems like a waste. I thought for sure I'd have it finished by now. Oh well. The other thing is I'm a little apprehensive about dynoing it. I have almost 130k mi on the car and I'm worried that will bring my numbers down.

It feels like its in 330i territory. I've driven one before and mine feels on par. I don't think most people here will trust my "feeling." I'm trying to tell Powerchip that they could sell quite a few of these if the numbers are good. But just to let everyone know, I'll probably start a new thread once it's done. A lot of people have abandoned this thread. It's 32 pages long with no results still. I can't really blame them.

That is awesome Bro. Keep us posted. If Powerchip can nail this tune I'll pull the trigger on this. If you start a new thread it would be awesome if we could compile all of the resources ie. Part Numbers, and Install Steps together.

Does the car have a lot more grunt to it? The only reference point to what I expect the power levels of 330i to be are from an E36 M3, and those pull pretty damn hard.

I don't know about e36 m3 territory. The numbers are close but the m3 has taller gears and could really pull at high speeds. The low end torque really improved. I have better pull from 2000 rpm up in all gears, but you need to rev it to 4000 to get the party started. Powerchip says they've added more valve lift at high rpm so it doesn't die past 6000rpm. The increased valve lift will also make your intake note louder if you have a cold air intake.

Strange how I was just talking about E36 M3's and this Jizzer comes out of nowhere...

Hey, from you signature it looks like you have a shark injector, how's that working for you?

BTW I've compiled a list of part numbers from a different thread on the same topic. I'll post them up pretty quick here.

Ok, so now I'm really confused. I was under the impression that BR Racing had a dyno. They don't. Los Gatos has some pretty strict noise regs that don't allow them to get a dyno. So with that, I don't know how powerchip is planning to custom tune my car. But anyway, it's been quite a while with no results so I'm just gonna get one dyno run in just to see the numbers. BR Racing is looking into some things for me to see if they can fix the issue without a custome tune.

I do have to say I'm glad I'm not constantly dumping money into this. I'm just sitting around waiting. Hopefully I'll get some dyno run in the next few weeks.

So what is sitting on your ECU right now?
Is it just stock 330i programming? Or is it Powerchip's performance 330i tune?

At this point the only issue you have is with a touchy throttle?
Can I ask what kind of symptoms you're experiencing? Is it a lag or a jerkiness you're experiencing?

What about a 330i PBX?
As a piggyback chip wouldn't it just override the Powerchip tune and apply it's own mapping? What I'm wondering about is if the PBX throttle mapping might have a positive impact on the throttle issues you're experiencing.

Just one other question, how do you know the actuators are actually functioning the way they're supposed to? I mean aside from the power gains lol.

Finally, my understanding is that the only other major mechanical difference between our cars and the 330's is that they have a less restrictive exhaust system. Maybe jumping on something a little more free flowing might clear things up for you.

I have powerchip's tune now. The throttle isn't touchy it's weird. Anything past 3000rpm at less than full throttle, the car feels like it's misfiring. Click on the cruise control and it stops. Also while it's doing its pretend misfire, if I floor it, there's about a 2 second delay before I get full throttle. If I go from no throttle to full throttle, it's fine as well. I'm not sure what the PowerBox would do, but it costs money and I'm trying to see if I can fix it without spending any.

As far as the actuators go, I pluged them in when I had the old manifold and the 330 tune. Both of them opened and closed at the proper rpm.

About the exhaust, all the the part numbers are the same. I read somewhere that the 325i and a more restrictive exhaust but I can't explain the part numbers.

Oh well... Maybe I'll go kill some time and make a video of the weird throttle issue.
