For those of you that are following this, it has been over 7 days using the bulbs and not 1 error code displayed.

They look absolutely fantastic, and I love every second of them!

Hey guys! The bulbs are on order, and I just got a shipping confirmation! I'm awaiting them anxiously. I didn't do priority shipping, so it might be between 1-2 weeks depending where their distribution center is. I'm on the east coast of the US, and packages usually get here pretty fast, but that may be partially due to the fact that newegg and amazon seem to have distribution centers within 75 miles of me (or they just have some crazy trunk monkeys that get my packages to me super fast ) I'll take quite a few pictures, and for the other guy who said he was having issues removing the trunk liner, I'll take pictures of the tabs that need to be pulled as well. Hopefully my next post will be a picture of the package on my front porch!
Cheers for now,
Rob.

Great! My only concerns are how bright they are compared to stock, whether or not they fit, and error codes. Actually, I'm sure that's what everyone is concerned about, lol. Thanks in advance. I'll check this thread in a week or two.

OK well last I found some measurements for the appropriate 921 OEM bulbs and compared it to the size of the 9 LED CANBUS bulbs, and the width of these bulbs isn't going to be a problem at all and neither is the length! (well now mind you...that's on paper, let's see if that turns out working in real life ). The 9 LED bulbs are .5mm shorter than the 921 bulbs, so if the 921s fit...these should too. I'll post again when they arrive.
Cheers,
Rob.

Hello again guys,
I just wanted to share a website that I found that is truly brilliant; it's like an encyclopaedia of automotive lightbulbs. it gives you the dimensions/stats of various bulbs; and this is how I found out that the 9 LED bulbs should fit (compare the m.o.l. to the length provided by autolumination)
Hope this helps,
Rob

^^^ Where is the website?^^^

I tried a set of the LED's. Did one side and left the other side OEM. Put it in reverse in my dark garage. the LED's were white and bright to look at, but then I turned around to look at the light thrown against the back wall of the garage. I LED was very weak compared to the OEM side. So LED's stayed out.

autolumination also offered the chrome bulbs that put out a whiter light than the stock halogen bulbs BMW uses. In addition, you could purchase the Sylvania bulbs that the OP listed that are known for burning out. I'm going to try out the 9 LEDs (when they arrive...grr...i admit stupidity for not paying $4 more for legit shipping) and see how that goes.

I'm pretty sure that you press down on the bulb and slightly twist counter clock wise and it should pop up a bit and then it can be released.

Couldnt get it out either....I thought it was push down and twist too but it didnt work.
For the LCI taillights the ideal bulb would have side firing at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions because there is no reflector on the top or botttom of the reverse lights. I fabricated a top reflector to see if it would help and it was not effective because the light exits through a slit so the side reflectors are the ones that get the light ot of the housing. The led light is very directional and focused so if there is only one side firing it will look bright in the housing but wont project as much light. If there were a row or two of high output side firing refelcting with a few on end of the bulb projecting directly out then it would project more light. The top and bottom leds ones dont do much in the reverse pights on the LCI tailights

I sourced my own set of LEDs locally and installed them yesterday. These are just as bright as stock ones with the pure white color output. Looks bright and clean!

They are error free with built in load resistors. No flickering at all.
These units are 5 LEDs per bulb. I'm going to try a 13 LED one soon and in theory it should be twice as bright as stock.

For now though, I'm completely satisfied with the current 5 LED units in terms of brightness and price

OK! So the bulbs finally arrived today! So in regard to installation...PAMidge, you stated that you used something like needle nose pliers to pull out the 5 or 6 'buttons' holding the trunk liner in yes?

I recommend using a small wrench. You can use the curved end as a fulcrum against the felt to pop up the little tabs
