Uh oh, another 320i owner looking for performance tips.
![]() In all seriousness I completely understand that there is really fuck all you can do to a 4cyl 2L engine to make it run any faster, unless you want to spend the money on a tune and all the supporting mods. However, I am unfortunately stuck with my provisional licence for a few years and I want to enjoy everything the car scene/experience has to offer, well, as much as I can get anyway. What are some of the best bang for my buck mods I can do to this little engine to put a smile on my face? I'd absolutely love to be able to hear some more of the turbo spool as this is the main reason I got the car, being able to drive a turbo'd engine on your P's is a treat. ![]() I look forward to reading your suggestions. ![]() |

I'm in the exact same boat. (I am on my red p's) so I was thinking something along the lines of a cat delete and new exhaust. Other than that maybe customising your stock airbox to allow more airflow... like here
![]() Or maybe this https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...ntake/?pdk=AQM which would be around $560 Unfortunately, as NSW Police are so strict, a red p plater with a turbo would draw attention instantly (and I haven't even been pulled over yet) so I'm not sure I'm gonna go in that direction; Otherwise here are some other ideas: https://bmwtuning.co/bolt-on-bmw-n52-performance-mods/ Im just keeping this car until I get my unrestricted license so I can buy a 335i and then begin to spend the big bux. Hopefully I can jazz the car up real nice for some p plater in NSW to buy who don't have a clue about cars. ![]() Last edited by jett_323; 10-04-2023 at 05:52 AM.. |

If you are dead set on getting a e9x 335i later on, there are plenty of cosmetic and handling mods options available which you could do now and then move them to your next car.
Also worth noting the 323i has a 2.5L N52. It'll make less power mod for mod than a 3.0L N52 would, assuming the same mods exist for the 2.5L.
