Check the manual. I *think* that the speaker level inputs have attenuation, and the RCA inputs are capable of accepting balanced and low-power speaker signals on most A/C gear. I would take a short twisted-pair RCA, chop it in half, and use that to run signal into the RCA inputs.

is the EQS even needed with the PDX? it's been a while since i did my initial research but i thought the PDX could take the inputs and you could adjust from there.

I'm not an audiophile but IMO the reason of the high midrange is due to the location of the front doors drives. Don't get me wrong, at normal volume its sound great. But when I am in those days when I want to burn my ears the guitars sounds distorted at high volume.

You are right, maybe the speakers can't handle high frequencies at those volume. But that is the beauty of the EQ, even better if is a DSP 1/3 octave EQ, you can selective adjust those frequencies that annoy you without compromising others frequencies.

tweets
I'm installing the sws subs today.
That terrible thump noise from the factory units is providing motivation Next on my list is tweeters. The factory tweeters sound like they are subject to high frequency roll off, if in fact the output from the HU is 'flat as a pancacke'. I have the +attenuation on the audiocontrol set fairly high. I'm thinking about replacing the door and deck tweeters with 1" polks. Suggestestions that do not require a second mortgage are welcome. |

SWS install is done. They sound much better. less noise, more music. That was a lot more work than I thought it would be. I'm getting too old for this sh*t. |

I saw some other types DSP processor in the forum, for example, AudioControl LC6/EQS/DQXS/DQL-8, JL Audio Cleansweep, Audison bit1 etc. What is difference among these devices? For E90 with HIFI option, which one is best fit ? Thanks! |
