Rough idle - high fuel consumption - e93 - N52
Hello,
This is my first post and i really want a help with my car, i have a e93-2009 with a 178k, am having a rough idle when i put it on neutral after driving the car for a while, i ran an obd test and i got 2 codes p0015 and p0012 so i bought 2 new vanos solenoids and new spark plugs and changed them and also changed the oil and oil filter and cleaned the fuel injectors in a shop and also cleaned the MAF sensor, yet am still having the same problem, so can you guys help me with it. i will attach some of the readings for the car. the second problem is the high fuel consumption, which i dont think is normal as i get 360km from full to almost empty tank and when i fill the tank i get a gas smell in the car, can you tell me guys how many km do you get on a full tank. note the cylinder values are near the 0 figure but in minus and after driving for a while they fluctuate between -0.01 to -1.5 |

I've got the same rough idle issue. Rough when hot. I don't have an issues with fuel smell in the cabin though.
My list of things that haven't helped so far: New sparkplugs Cleaning old Vanos solenoid One new Vanos solenoid Swapping Vanos solenoids Cleaning Vanos filters Intake system leak test with smoke machine (no leaks) Cleaned MAF The only thing that has helped so far it would seem was to drive the car quite hard and get lots of fuel through it. Not really sure where to go next exactly. Fuel mileage is hard to estimate. I'm getting about 11L/100km driving in mostly slow heavy traffic in Vancouver BC (very few freeways around here). This is quite close to the government fuel economy rating for the '06 330i 6MT. Anyway, according the Canadian government an E90 with N52 should do about 470 to 700km per tank (100% city vs 100% open freeway) (assuming 61L of fuel used per tank, which isn't realistic obviously, so maybe subtract 10% from those distance estimates). What are the "cylinder values" you are reading as negative? Last edited by WheelNut2; 01-10-2023 at 02:38 PM.. |

i forgot to mention that i have a white smoke coming out of the exhaust, and a choppy whistle sound after driving the car for a while.. ill attach the readings from the OBD also i've watched a YouTube video that basically says my cars symptoms are due to a vacuum leak, could it possibly be from any of the following:
1- pcv valve 2- vlave cover cap Readings: https://ibb.co/3YJcTvV https://ibb.co/h7FG2gf https://ibb.co/2nRh8b7 https://ibb.co/4WVHvb5 https://ibb.co/qgJTfwR https://ibb.co/LrWSc9f https://ibb.co/82QkVHV https://ibb.co/r4060XF Last edited by Rs1988; 01-13-2023 at 05:37 PM.. Reason: wrong links |
