water pump, and alternator missing?

Hey guys,

Did an alternator change, followed by oil filter housing gasket, serpentine belt and coolant flange on the N52 engine, but im for some reason i get these codes,

2E85 BSD, message; electric coolant pump:
Missing
2ECC BSD, message; alternator: Missing

I didnt touch the water pump so im guessing its the belt? but its on ok, could the tensioner cause this?

Thanks for any help!!

I don't have a fix for you, but they are all on the same "circuit" so they all show as bad. The oil level sensor is as well, maybe some other bits and pieces. Something on the circuit is a problem, probably the alternator. What kind did you put in? If it's a no-name Amazon one, there's your problem. If it is the correct Bosch/Valeo one... well, I've got nothing!

its Bosch, refurbished from FCP Euro. just wierd that the water pump is missing as well though? I didnt go near this.

Im still leaning towards the tensioner, but if there is something else anyone can think of?

The battery is has 11V while running, should be around 14, so there is something odd there. Unless the alternator i received is faulty, but then what would trigger the water pump to disconnect?

Probably the alternator or the connections.

I had a faulty / new alternator take out the BSD bus as well. Alternator worked but the bus was dead. Changed alternator and everything worked as it should.

The fact that it's not charging is telling you something........

Without BSM bus data the water pump will run at full speed.
