So, I saw this thread couple days ago. And I was about to buy a set of winter tires becuz my Turanza is almost out of thread and here, Rochester, NY, has been snowing for a week and keep snowing. I called BMWNA (1-800-831-1117) and asked them about the "recall" of Turanza. They kindly answered my questions and set up an appoint at my local dealership for me. I brought my car to the dealership today and tell them about it. Make sure to bring a copy of that bulletin (http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/bulletins/...p/B360606g.htm) and tell them you already talked about it with BMWNA. I mean they will know about it. As you can see from the bulletin, you need less then 10000 miles on the tires to get a free set. Other then that, you will need to pay 50 % of tires. No labor. My car has about 12750 miles on it. I just told them tires only has about 9000 miles on it. I could tell that becuz I had aftermarket wheels&tires on my car today. Stock wheels&tires were on my rear seat. So, they went through their policy and all that crap, I recieved a free set of Continental RFT + Wheel balance + allignment. Go ahead and do it. Better hurry guys.

Oh and make sure to keep bitching about the tires when you get to dealership.
like... " That makes crazy sound when I drive with it and I'm sick of it!!!" " It sucks!!!" " I hate it!!!"

that sounds crazy enough to work...will give it a shot. I could say that they are my winter set up and my summer set up is at home. I'll try it out when I go in for servicing next week. Thanks for sharing

The rep I spoke to was reluctant to share any details about the bulletin. He kept on repeating that 'bulletins are internal documents' and that he 'wasn't able to discuss any details of it'. In the end, he just mentioned that if I were having problems with my tires I should bring it into any BMW center to have them checked out. He couldn't even answer my question about if all BMW centers are participants of the 'BMW Tire Center Target Satisfaction Program', which is part of the requirement of the Turanza Bulletin Oh, well, I will still bring the copy of the bulletin with me during my appointment next week. zzinco, did they to limit the claim by addressing the front tires only? How'd you get them to change all 4? Was it much of a fight? Once again, thank you all for your contributions.

for all the Canadians who have this issue and are looking to replace your turanza's, DON'T call BMW Canada, cuz they don't know shit (at least the rep i was talking to), just directly call your BMW dealer, and book an appointment for service and they will take care for you, i just called today, getting new tires next week!

hmmm... the rep that i talked to was telling me there is an issue about that and they will happy to solve that problem. One that she, rep, corrected me was that is not BMW's fault. That is Bridgestone's mistake but still BMW can solve it on their hands. Try to call them again until some nice and kind rep answers you. And it wasn't big fight. The tech. just unloaded tires from my car and did his job. Nothing complicated and everything was very smooth. or what you can do is just call your local dealership and set up and appointment. Make sure to bring the copy of the bulletin (just in case) and tell them you already talked about it with BMWNA. * what I did with bulletin was when they, delaer, asked me what is wrong with tires and all other crap questions I just told them "please refer this document. That tells you what exact problem is". And they were like "ok...". Good luck.

Has anyone else gotten the Continentals on their car instead of the Bridgestones? I would actually consider doing this if I wasn't going to end up with the same crappy Bridgestones that the car came with in the first place.
Was it difficult to get your dealership to put the Contis on instead?

BMW has handled this situation horribly. They should be ashamed - and it should cost them in sales. I'm really getting sick of the "we didn't make the tires" bullshit line from auto manufacturers. They don't make 70% of the components of the car... until I get to tell them which tires to put on the car at the factory, I figure they should be responsible for them.
