Anyone had a oil filter housing adapter gasket leak? I was just quoted $1200 at BMW. If it's an easy fix I can do it myself, or maybe my extended warranty will cover it.

Should be $250-$300 of labor at an Indy shop. Bring your own gaskets.

Very easy DIY, plenty of guides to be found on here/YouTube.

Hi there New to the community
Hello everyone, for a while now I’ve been looking to join a bmw online community of fellow bmw enthusiasts and I’ve finally picked this one. I’ve been browsing around the forum and looking to do an introduction and I thought his thread would be the most appropriate. (I own a 335is)
My first bmw was a 2003 e46 M3 with an manaual tranny, oritental metallic blue, convertible. WOW! what fun that car was and how many girls got to see the back seat (yes it was hard back there). The car had 100k miles when I bought it and was in prestige condition I put another 100k miles on it before finally selling it and buying a beautiful 2013 33is with 32k Miles (pictures will follow) January 2019. Before my e93 I had never really bothered with any sort of mods but now, that’s a thing of the past I’m building my IS to be a performence monster! But one thing I have always done is my own maintenance. None of my cars have ever seen a shop or any other mechanic than myself I’ve done everything from an oil, control arms, vanos rebuild, door lock actuators, oil pan gasket, pullys and even rear axle differential. I’m not afraid to get down and dirty under the hood With my IS I’ve done the same all work done by me, currently we are running the following mods: CFS Alumminum radiator Mishimoto performance Intercooler AFE stage two cold air intake HKS aluminum charge pipe with BOV (sounds amazing!) Custom red start button Red carbon fiber extended paddle shifters Carbon fiber steering wheel insert Mods on the way: Cobb farted down pipes Tune (I’m thinking jb4) Painting Calibers Rim protec (just need to install, I’ve been lazy) Last edited by Darth_Bimmer93; 04-09-2019 at 01:10 PM.. I was kinda trying to start to diagnose my weird idle. Sometimes it dances a bit by 100 rpm and I feel a slight vibration. Just changed my plugs and coils and didn't fix it.
I didn't pull them out, you can barely see index number if you place your head right lol. Some of them had to pull the coil to see better. Couldn't see last 2 100% sure but if all the rest are 12 I'm sure number 5 and 6 are as well. |

But yeah I think my VCG is begging to leak for sure since one plug did have a small oil puddle. The others were not to bad. |

I did it myself for a little under US$200 using cheap Harbor Freight tools and an air compressor I rented for the day. There are quite a few of guides around these forums that outline will outline what you need to buy.
