Had a great time meeting Carl and watching him work. Totally worth the 200 mile trip and a GREAT deal compared to the stealership. Learned a good bit about my car as well. If you are within a 200 mile radius of Portland...go see Carl to get this done. Thx Carl!

Just came across this thread. How often do you need to do this? I just recently go my car in June and want to keep up with maintenance, is there a way to check if I need to get this done?

Thank you so much Carl. You're the man! 112k miles and its never been done! It was way over due. For anyone reading this- this should be done at least every 50k miles. It's just a bi-product of direct injection.

Wow, your work is impressive. A few questions: I have an 2007 328i - that one does not have this issue right? Also have you/would you consider doing an 07 RS4 which have this issue for sure?

Actually didn't expect much, but the occasional "glitches" when in sport mode and "getting on it" are gone now. YMMV.

328 no need for it and as far as the rs4 goes i have not done one, but im more than willing to dig into it for you . i have been asked a few times to do Volkswagen but no one has followed through on them . seems as though the audi and volks have some pretty bad carbon issues maybe more so than bmw .
