Might want to replace that ground strap while you're down there.

I used up my destroy stuff points earlier when I cut into my exhaust pipe trying to cut the rusted flange bolts off. Oops. That might just be natures way of telling me to go with catless midpipes tho, time will tell.

I found the key to getting this thing off is to get the disconnect tool as far in as possible from below, then from above there is one arm position, if you reach in with your arm kind of backwards, where you can get a good firm grip on both the tool and the hose, give it a wiggle then a good yank and off it pops.

Went for a drive today to see the progress of the Rocky Mountain Motorsports Park just north of Calgary. You can see the equipment in the background, some of the track has been graded and they’ve moved a lot of dirt for the highway expansion they have to do. Exciting stuff. Also installed those Amazon grills and removed the front plate bracket. On a side note, I checked my fuel economy on the 300+ km I drove today, and if the car is anything close to realistic (I’ve never reset the fuel economy numbers) then this car is averaging 8.7l/100km, 27mpg. Not too shabby

That's why I wish cars still came with a spare wheel. Always said I'd get a space saver any carry it, never got round to it. Every time I've needed a spare bar one the tyre was damaged to the point it would never reinflate even temporarily.

Yeah, thankfully the tire was actually good some how until I was about 3 miles from home, thats when the TMPS came on. Made it home with air in the tire (22psi) then then this morning it was completely flat

Finally did a brake job after accumulating the parts, got a deal on the Z4 sDrive35 rotors from a member here. Akebono Euro Ceramic pads and Stoptech SS brake lines.

Exhaust out. Had a oopsie with the cutting wheel cutting one of the upper rusted flange nuts off, just couldn't see what I was doing until it was too late. I think this has pushed me over the decision edge towards catless midpipes, since I'd already have to fix these.

Did my N55 OFHG yesterday as well as a few other "while I'm in there" type of things (coolant flush, upgraded coolant pipe flange, external oil cooler gasket, checked out carbon buildup on valves, etc.).

OFHG was starting to leak with just 54k miles on the clock on my 2013 E92 335i.

Overall went pretty smoothly, just a pain having to take out the whole intake manifold to get to that one bolt on the back side.

Overcame my fears of the rumors that N55's can spin a rod bearing after the OFHG change, cranked her on, let her warm up, and she's running like a deam. Now to just wait until the valve cover starts leaking....

Finally finished with this fucking intake, what a pia. Custom charge pipe needed along with a Turbosmart Raceport bov but it's a completely clean stage 2+ install.

around here a $20 bill would get that crack welded up at a muffler shop.

but don't let me talk another person out of any reason they need to spend money on a car.
it's obviously ruined, and you should throw it all in the trash.

With the way my car smells after idling in a spot for a while with headers on and secondary cats I can't even begin to imagine how it would with catless midpipes. But maybe there isn't that much of a difference.

I have a MIG welder. I'm not very good with it but I'm sure I could patch that little slit right up. But I think you're catching on, I showed the wife and she concurs, it's toast and my order is already in for a set of Supersprint Section 1s.

You have catless headers? I'm thinking that's where most of the gas processing happens since that's where it's hot, but IDK. I'll keep the cats just in case I gotta put them back on for inspection or if the smell really is obnoxious.

Yeah I have catless only secondaries left on there. Maybe the secondaries don't clean up the smell much at all and add noticeable power but I'd have to be extra sure before doing that lol. Would like to see an update on how the catless midpipes feel once installed and if they make the car smell at all.
