How do I get a shark fin on my car?
My car (e90 320d saloon) does not have a shark fin on it and I wouldnt mind getting one as I think they look quite cool!
Anyone know where and how one can get one on the car? Urfan

You can buy just the cover and stick that on your roof if you want... (item 1 below)
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...83&hg=65&fg=30 3 times the price for a painted one though! Obviuosly you won't need the gubbins underneat (or want to cut a whole in your roof) Or failing that, Gordon Ramsay can sort you out with a few fins cheap. |

Dont need to wire to anything really as the antenna for the radio is the horizontal wires in the rear screen and this would just be "for show"

Hi Urfan,
I wanted to get one and bought from eBay and tried to put in..but it was a futile effort..as it didnt fit in well and also it looked very cheap...so I guess you can get it, but make sure you get from a reputed company else its not going to look good..I removed mine now |

No its the FIN itself which wasnt that good, may be I didnt buy the correct one. The fin comes with a paper underneath which when you peel has gum underneath to attach to the metal on the back top of the car where fin sits. But may be you could get a better quality one...good luck and if you find one do let me know and I shall go for it as well..I just wanted to warn you

It comes with adhesive attached, just peel and stick i imagine.
Read the description for item 1!!! http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...83&hg=65&fg=30 If you're going to put a dummy fin on at least make it a BMW one for pete's sake! |

Just rang Sandals Huddersfield and they quoted me £36.80 for the primed version and £106 for the painted version with a lead time of 5 working weeks as it comes from Germany!...He could also paint one in their body shop for an extra £45 on top of the £36.80
He wasnt sure whether it comes with the adhesive and just mentioned that there is an information note saying needs to go on with glass adhesive.... What is glass adhesive exactly? and what would that do to the paintwork underneath?

I had one retrofitted by the dealer around 12 months ago. I bought mine from BMW Bowker in Preston, they had one available in their parts dept but obviously its only primed and not painted. Within a week it had been painted and they charged me around £70 for the part and painted and because they'd messed me around previously they also fitted the fin free of charge.
I was well happy with the paint job and fitted with accurate measurements as per the original factory fitted ones. Mine is also only for show and has none of the bluetooth gubbins inside. Try Bowker as they have a Blackburn dealership so not that far from you. |
