Airfilter replacement is not for a long time ( bit to long for me )

It also depends howfar open the tech would open the housing to get the filter out and if he will notice or care about the charcoal filter.

They are also used to E46 that dont have the USA charcoal filter

Yea, I'm counting on him (or her) just not noticing or caring.

I would assume that if you knew how to remove the charcoal filter, you will probably be changing your air filter as well...long story short, BMW willl never have to open the housing if you DIY......(btw, I removed mine and noticed a subtle increase in acceleration).

In the US we have free maintenance for four years. At some point the air filter will be changed by a BMW tech. I can't imagine anyone asking them not to.

Who cares? If they ask just tell them you removed it. Since its impossible for the missing filter to cause the car any harm (unless you screwed up when you removed it) they can't refuse you maintenance and/or service. If you live in California (or other similar emission restrictive states) I'm not sure if there are any laws about modifying your vehicle this way...you may want to do some research to be sure if it bothers you that much.

I don't think they care. Heck, they don't care if they dirty your seat. My experience is that people will not go the extra mile and do more than what they are paid to do.

They might make a note to not cover any air intake-warranty-related issues.

That happened to a guy here who fried his ecu with an aftermarket sub.
