Opinions needed on secondary engine sound
Hey all, just looking for peoples thoughts on a secondary engine sound I can hear while the car's running. I am a new owner of this e90 320d 184, but not noticed this odd clicking sound in the background before.
Worth getting Sytner's to check it out or am i being unnecessarily fussy? Worth mentioning that I had the battery and EGR recall done yesterday? Not sure it's related although I didn't hear the noise before. Thanks in advance for any thoughts. https://vimeo.com/317815316 Bez Last edited by Bezzer; 02-17-2019 at 04:44 PM.. |

The background noise I can hear is like a rattle being intermittently shaken, if that's she same noise you can hear then you'll probably find it's timing chain related.

could be timing chain, but to me, it also sounds like the gentle thump of the pressure converter. I know that issue affects the 330d's more often, but it might be worth a look. The do no damage to the engine when they start to fail and often go from the thumping sound to a duck quack type noise.
