When is the plant in Germany shutdown?

Everyone seems to think something different.

Is it now? (end of August?) or sometime in September? Or sometime in October for Oktoberfest.

My car has been "in production with no confirmed production date" for 3+ weeks and my dealer has nothing to so and I'm getting frustrated. Kind of want to buy off the lot.

I've also had my car in the body shop supposedly for the past 2 weeks. I think that normally only takes a few days, but it's probably due to the shutdown. The estimated completion date of production is currently Sept 7th.

Takes about 7 days in the body shop

I thought I had read that production sometimes only takes about a week total. I might be a little off though

Either way it doesn't matter. I'm not getting my car until at least end of Sept or early Oct, lol

Yeah my original car went through the whole process in about 7 days

Be sure to keep tabs on your build though - after building mine, I noticed the website had the wrong color leather shown... so I gave my dealer a call. Turns out BMW actually ran out of tan leather, didn't bother telling anyone, and produced it with black leather instead.

Its not worth waiting 2 months to get your car shipped, then to find out its not what you ordered!

See that's another thing that I'm not comfortable with. Everywhere it says that the website shows wrong packages, but this is normal and we shouldn't worry about it. Though if in your case you got the wrong color. How are you supposed to verify that? I've tried calling the BMW NA hotline and they can't seem to tell me anything except reiterate what the message tells me anyway. I'm missing a few things like the premium package and a few options on the website but it's showing the right colors and trim for me.

Sorry for hijacking!

Um should I be nervous if the site shows my car having no options? lol

Supposedly you shouldn't worry about it and I've heard it's almost always wrong on the website.

So no one knows when the plant is shutdown? My car has been in 150 status, not moved to 151 status, in over 16 days. I am pissed.

Great! When I ordered my car my CA AND the Sales Manager assured me there was not a plant shut down during August!

I guess they lied! If they want to keep my business they will have to do something for me!

I dont know. Sometimes I think a lot of CA's just don't know very much about what's going on.

I agree, in general Client Advisors are clueless. But I believe Hans the Sales Manager straight out of Germany would have correct info!

I wonder if they messed up your order. I ordered mine June 30th and it'll be here on the west coast Sept 7th. Mine also took like 4-5 weeks to get started though which pissed me off. Shoulda cancelled, that'll show em.

I don't really understand the whole process about "allocation" but that has something to do with the effect on when your order gets placed. My CA told me they had to wait about a week and then they'd have allocations available on 328i's
