for the people with rims,

what size rims do you have and what size would you recommend for our shitty roads?

i was originally looking at the 19" e90 m3 competition rims but after seeing this thread, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=488704 , i'm now thinking of the 18" e90 m3 competition rims

well i bought 19" csl m3 reps, havent put them on yet, im planning on putting on all seasons in like a month or 2 and drive it all year. i agree with the shitty roads, but this is what i think about it, change your driving habits a bit and keep a nice car

For spring/summer/fall i run 19's, vmr 710's with nitto invo's 235 (should have gotten 245's) and 275's rear. The roads around here can be bad, just need to scout ahead as much as possible. I bent 1 rim (front) and tore the rear tire on the same road last summer, but that was like an 80 mph hit of a decent pot hole or something. I'll still run 19's because they look so nice, but i'd get the biggest sidewall you can fit, that's what will help the most.

all seasons on 19s? i dunno man, i think those would suck in the winter

i would get hankook v12's for the summer and blizzaks on the stock rims during the winter

If you have a XI and are running 19s, you need to make sure that your new wheels end up with the same rolling diameter as your stock wheels, or you will mess up the awd.

I can't imagine going larger than 18" with our roads. Have tried to make excuses to get some 19" CSL reps.. but just can't justify it.

2x for Hankook V12s for the summer - fantastic all-around for their price (~800 for a set). Ride quality over the run flats is fantastic, although not as sticky as the stock Bridgestones.

Depends on the tire, Nittos run a bit smaller then others, so i would go 245/35/19s

Most tire manufacturers sites have actual measurements. Compare the tires you want to other tires people say fit without rubbing.

I'd probably be in and I'm sure a bunch of guys in my car club would be too.

If anyone here is in or near Ann Arbor, check out www.a2sportcompacts.com. We have meets every sat night starting when it gets warm out, and there are all sorts of cars and everyone, well, the core members, are very mature and friendly!

Buy the wheels in my sig... I just went to another set of 19's and drive to Detroit all the time with no issues. In the winter, run 18's because the 40 series has so much more meet than the summers it is very protected.
