LSD install
Gents,
What is in your opinion the best place to have a LSD installed....reading through the posts here, it looks like RMP Motors or Ivo @ Columbus. Even though I have someone who can do it for me, I would not mind checking other options, if they are bullet proof reliable. Can you guys share your install experiences? Also, can you guys share Ivo's contact information (PM please, if not possible otherwise). Appreciated! |

Thank you, sir.
as far as the installation goes....is all smooth? I was reading you had a Wavetrac installed. I also know my ring gear is bolted ('10 A/T) and not welded - I guess I should pay him a visit to confirm. |

If your diff is a bolt no problem, if not it will cost a little more but I am sure he can do it.

It is not cheap but worth every penny! I would talk to Ivo about it, too have an idea it all would cost. If you can phone around to the wracking yards for a 2007 335i rear diff(which would be a bolted gear ring) and have Ivo do the swap, it maybe cheaper that way.

A BMW dealership is as bulletproof as you can get. Expensive, but you can have a peace of mind.

I was reading about your Dinan LSD...what exact brand is that? You mentioned it is a clutch type LSD - that makes it a Drexler (makers of the M diffs). Is that correct? I only had great experiences with Budd's, the only problem is that Dinan prices combined with BMW labour rates are killer! I will look into that, thanks for suggestions. I gather you have a quaife. How long ago was that installed? Any issues since the install? Last edited by SilverEmu; 01-16-2012 at 08:24 AM.. |
