Going by my calculations I drive about 90 miles total a day, about 75 of those highway.

You might just want to hope you get a really good SA.

My warranty expires next month and I ust brought my car in to replace the micro filters. My front brakes had 9k left and backs had 11k (per the OBC). I told the SA that my brakes had been sqeaking real bad.

He called me the next day and told me that the specs on the brakes were borderline on getting replaced. He was able to get them to replace all 4 brake pads and put new rotors on the front (looking at the paperwork, I don't think the rears rotors were replaced).

You have 8 months left and 7k to go. Probably by the time you bring it in for service, the specs will meet the threshold on being replaced.

^^ I only have CPO warranty and Didn't upgrade to the Maint. plan as it was hella expensive.

But thanks anyway, I do have a great relationship with the Service Manager, but that wont help with this issue as I doubt she can do anything about this issue.

That's why I was wondering how long, would you guess I would have left on my car b4 the front brakes need replacing.

AND PS does anyone know how much pad is left when the 1000 mile light comes on?

3mm of pad material left when the 1,000 miles is shown.

See the pics, that's the old sensor worn out to the 1,000 mile life mark.

Brake pad has 3mm of material left...and the rotors are scrapped since it's 20mm already.

The min. thickness in the BMW service manual to replace them is when they reach 20.4mm or less.

You can see the groove on the outer edge of the rotor...that's how much metal the pads ate away from the rotor.

These brake parts have 51k on them.

Cool Carbon makes some excellent pads that you may want to look at. No additional hardware needed, they're direct fit pads that increase your stopping power and will total up to be less expensive than you going through the dealer!

^^ will I still need new rotors? Or would I have to check the thickness 1st? Or even if the thickness is a little less than recommended could I still use this pads with the same stock worn rotors?

I used to road race my previous car which was a heavily modified suspension on a '99 Camaro SS, had Corvette front calipers which are pressure cast compared to gravity cast that was stock.

I got the OEM parts online at getbmwparts.com and seems like a good price for them.

Does the carbon pads squeak or make more noise than the OEM pads?

I would check the thickness first for list of parts to order.

For less than min. thickness as stated in the BMW service manual, I would say take it at your own risk.

The Stainless Steel noise shims which are bonded to what is already a quite formula for the pads will ensure virtually no noise under any driving conditions. You'll find that these are a great, less expensive alternative that will increase your performance in comparison to the OE pads.

Totally depends on how you drive. I'm the original owner of my 06 330i sport package with 84000 miles. It will be 5 years old in a few days. I am a spirited driver but drive a lot of highway miles. I am still on my original pads and rotors front and back, and it says I have 26k left on the front and 33k left on the rear. I am skeptical about that, but we'll see what happens.

Hate to bump a old thread, but don't wanna make a new one.
My 2011 335i is still under factory warranty at 43k miles till Oct.
The dealer recently reset everything after my last service. My car
is now showing brakes are good for another 45k miles????
I rather not be out of pocket for the brakes. I drive bumper to
bumper everyday DC-MD.
Any advice?

It will trip only if the sensor triggers it. If you want to trigger it disconnect it turn on car and it will turn on. Plug it back in and it will stay on it goes by resistance.
