Springrates BC Racing Coilovers
Guys, i need a little bit of help.
I want to order BC Racing Coilovers but what spring rates do I need? I'm driving on 19" BBS CH Wheels and the M-Sport Suspension is way to high, haha. Highest point of the car is 6.5cm (2.9 inch) Really want to get very low ("slammed") but i don't know where to start with the rates. The "Extreme drop" is only a other spring rates then stock (8/12) For example I got a couple of picture of Kevin Love his E90. He's rollin on BC's but he had problems on 10k/14k spring rates, he had to remove 2/3 collars. Hope to hear from you guys and hopefully I can get some info! (Sorry for my bad english. Haha) Thanks! Sounds like the spring rates are fine, maybe 12k in the front and leave 14 in the rear. Im not familiar with his issue. Removing 2/3 of the collar is what throwing me off. I'm assuming it was to go lower. If that's the case, you should just look for shorter springs.

Just get 18/24 and call it a day. If you ever get "serious' about lip to fender and become an addict like I have you are going to want them anyway. Also, buy from Broadway Static not BC

You are trying to achieve a certain look that forfeits your rights to a smooth(er) ride. While 18/24 would be "bumpy" in a sense its not terrible....if youre worried about a shitty ride then I suggest getting bags. But at 3x the price of coils it might not be within your budget. I ran 12/14 for a little while and it was no where near stiff enough to protect my fender/lip. Just my .02.

BC Racing Extra Low 14k/20k, removed 1 collar at the front.
This isn't the lowest point of the BC coils, maybe in the summer I will slam the car lower. Can't get the wheels flush because I need to get other tires, spacers and roll my arches. |
