Probably not. Like I said, most of the gains are probably in removing the cats so it doesn't seem like it would be worth going back and spending more money on it. Plus the way you did it, it would be real easy to return it to stock where as if you cut it up more it isn't going to be as easy.

Here's a pic of how mine was done. You can see how many welds there are and the pipe he used is pretty expensive.

You might not be able to use it at all. Even with DP, this might not be the right solution. Once more testing is done without 93 octane, Terry will let us know the result. I am going to be testing it on 93 octane, and so far, Terry has had success on 93 octane and the pill.

There are no resonators in the e92. Its not alot louder but is sounds quite a bit better and in a tunnel it sounds very nice. It has a deeper tone but it is pretty loud on a cold start.

No, it is definitely worth removing the x and crushed pipe if you are going to have the cats removed. I just am not sure it would be worth going back if you already had the cats only cut out like the OP. Since you haven't done anything yet, just take a look under the car with the muffler man that will be working on your exhaust and tell him you want to remove the secondary cats and free up flow.

thanks,
No CELs, no Codes o2 sensor is further up so removing 2nd cat and x-pipe wont be an issue as far as CELs go.

so that means there is basically no o2 sensor readings for the secondary cat (because u would need on the secondary cat a before o2 sensor and an after o2 sensor) correct?

i trust you are sure about this??, becuase i literally will go to the muffler shop monday morning for removal of secondary cats if there will be no cels, no codes.

thanks a bunch for reconfirmation.

thanks bud
btw, check out the new thread "primary or secondary cat delete?"
my (premature) guess is (until we get some forum feedback) that secondary cat deletion is the way to go

i assume u keep your stock mufflers in and just took out the secondary cats (and possibly the X pipe) correct?

Yes, stock mufflers are still in. Originally i didnt have them replace the stock x-pipe, but i might go back and get it done. Havent decided if its worth it though.

Yes, this is a mod that probably a couple hundred people have done over the past 6-8 months.
I think most found it made about 6-8 rwhp and you lose like 15 or so pounds in weight.

I just bought a stock catback the other day and will be throwing that on soon. I'll report back on how much performance I lose. Hopefully less than 15rw.

Actually we should race. 91 octane V2 default settings for you vs. JB2H 91 octane for me. Both cars on stock exhaust / 2nd cats, so the main difference will be my downpipes and the tune. I'll throw in my stock battery too so I'll only be ~75# lighter. I think it will be pretty close...

Why did you buy a stock exhaust?
Why do you want to take power away from your car?

I will be dynoing my car v1.47 and then a day or two later on v2.02 at default settings.
I'm going to dyno on 92 Octane too.
This splits the difference between 91 and 93 so 91 Octane guys will know they will get a few HP less, and 93 Octane will know they get a few HP more.
Plus nobody has dynoed at 92 Octane yet so what the h3ll.

BTW, I'll be running Warren once I get the v2.02 in.
Our cars and weights are basically identical and we have the same wheels and tires too.
I will run him on the JB2 on 96 Octane, then have him flip the switch to the "R" and run him on the JB2R on 96 Octane too.
I will run on 93 Octane.

I'm hoping that JB2H + downpipes on 91 all else stock will be a competitive combo. Basically for the price of the V2 one can get JB2+DP+pay someone to install both, or install themselves and pocket a bunch of cash.

Actually I just finished the swap in my driveway. It's much quieter now, and doesn't smell anymore. I'll do some vbox runs tomorrow or Sunday to see where I stand.

PS. Someone PM me if you want a good deal on a res/2nd cat delete/cutout exhaust.

PS. FWIW I'd say just dyno on 91, it's so hard to meter gas you'll never know if the 92 is mixed right. If you're going to LA Performance maybe I can meet you there and take a couple 91 pulls also.

The only reason I'm going to dyno with 92 is because currently I have 93 mix in the car and am at 1/2 tank (remember I was up in your hood at the Alliance the other day and dropped about 4.5 gallons 100 Octane into my 2/3 tank 91 Octane.

I haven't driven much this week and still have 1/2 tank of 93 Octane in.
But since I rarely ever run 93 Octane I figured I'd put a few gallons of 91 back in to make a roughly 92 Octane mix. If I could burn my half tank of gas in the next 2-3 days (which is possible) I'll do a 91 Octane dyno.
I'm going to go to LA Performance on Monday or Tuesday (whenever I can get in).
Check the forums Monday morning, I'll PM you if i'm able to get in their and what time. If you can make it, I'll let them know you are coming in after me.

Sounds like you got tired of the loud exhaust huh?
Yeah, yeah to me having those cut-outs for 3-4 rwhp is not worth all the noise.

Just go drive around a bunch to burn off the 93. PS. Tell Al the salesman you are friends with me, might get a small discount.

Yeah, I might go do the "little Nurburgring" run a couple times this afternoon.
It's about 40 miles around the "track" and will easily burn a 1/4 tank of gas if driven at 7/10ths.

I will be calling Al (or whomever it was I spoke to the other day) at 9 am on Monday morning. I'm hoping to get in at 11 am.
Will let you know. He quoted me $75 for 3 runs....pretty normal, but maybe he'll give us both a "discount" if we both do 3 runs.

I will also be doing the first two runs on a stock air filter and the third with the K&N installed to see if it does anything. Hopefully they'll let me let the car cool for 5-10 minutes before the last run so I can get it installed and it's more at the same temp as the 2nd run on the stock filter.
