Depends on how the remap was written, you need to speak to the tuner who did your car.
Quote:
No one can do a full remap for the 335i as yet. There are only two tuners in the world who can do a "sort" of remap, one in USA and one in Germany. They both have connections to BMW in USA and BMW development in Germany. Any tuners who say they can send the ECU to either of these two tuners. Even then the remap isnt applied correctly and tricks have to be done within the map to get the car started afterwards. This can cause running issues and software updates at the dealer difficult. Then there is the issue of BMW legal breathing down your neck I wont be doing these for a while until a safe solution is available and the BMW legal team have calmed down |

GA6HP26Z is just a general auto box made by ZF and used across all the petrol and diesel variations. There are different calibration boxes dependant on the engine fitted. The earlier 535d 272bhp box cant handle as much as the later 286bhp engine which is why we dont increase the bhp/torque as much on the 272bhp models

I had to pay an extra £90 and I'm 2 months into the policy, I'd paid £700 for the year.
Mine's running on standard stuff. I normally use the Shell standard diesel but i did fill up with Sainsbury's fuel this morning as the range computer was down to 3 miles. Managed to get over 60 litres into it!

Is the 2nd Generation 6HP in the 335D though? TIS suggests its the GA6HP26 (input torque max 600Nm) which isnt a 2nd generation, that would be the GA6HP28 (with input torque max of 700Nm)
Did it change at LCI (Sept 07)? |

If its the case that we have the GA6HP26Z in our 335d's (according to www.realoem.com) and we are running 700nm (mapped) then this is not good since we are running it 17% over the limit.

i got my e92 330d remapped and rolling roaded and it has taken it to 290bhp with 600nm - i'm pretty amazed by it to be honest - those 350~bhp 700nm 335d's must be frightening!

Realoem is not upto date. All the 335d and 535d running 286bhp are 2nd generation/LCI models hence why we cap the torque to 700nm. The emergency torque maps within the engine map also confirm this. The 850nm box is used in the 740d/745d but I am not 100% as we dont see them in the UK.

remember chaps the quoted figures in the brohures, are not faliure points.
Failure would come in at considerably higher values. say at 50% over torque. Any mechanical engineering has a safety factor built in, so I wouldn't worry too much. SJ |

The limits would be the point at which they would be confident of zero mechanical failures. You would then expect a normal distribution of failures beyond that point.

exactly.. realiabilty will suffer and the lifetime reduced from 150,000 miles to say 100,000 miles.
Think that I could probably live with that SJ |

I'll have said goodbye to mine before it reaches 30,000 mls. I wonder if the 340D will be out by then, mind you it would be around 340/350bhp and I've already done that,so 340D.............remap.............again!
