Exclamation Car Won't Hold Idle

E90/328i/130k miles

First, the car won't crank at all.

Battery was replaced - Link
BT Tool - Reset Battery Adaptation

Still won't crank!

Replaced the Starter motor - Link
Installation went fine

Car started snappily.
Engine started shaking and the idle could not be maintained.
After few tries, engine just dies off after few seconds of trying to maintain idle

Got following codes:

Gearbox Control Unit
Code:
CF17:
Error will not cause a warning light
Error is currently present

CF1C:
Error will cause a warning light
Error is not currently present
Code:
Car Access System 3
A0B4:

Code:

UPDATE
  • I unplugged MAF sensor, and the car starts and holds idle, though it's rough idle.
  • During started motor installation, I sprayed MAF cleaner on it
  • I pulled it out just now and re-sprayed and wiped it with a cotton pad
  • MAF plugged in - Car stalls and dies
  • MAF unplugged - Car holds idle, though rough

So is the MAF gone? Or this could be due to a another breather hose lose from the starter motor installation?

It sounds like you probably have a vacuum leak from a disconnected or broken hose. I would start looking for that first because it is the lowest cost, easiest item to fix.

So I started taking apart everything for intake manifold. I found out that the hose that plugs in to the side of the throttle body has been pulled off.

Everything is fine now

Thank you for the reply. Made me not order new MAF sensor, which wasn't the cause.
