Ordered my CIC radio through EBAY. its getting shipped today. Will get it next week or end of this week. I will keep you guys updated. It was $1600 but i managed to haggle it down to about $1400 with shipping included.
Console cover for the new controller. facia for the radio. basically every is included and coded to your vin. direct plug and play with no coding required. but i will confirm that once i have it installed. Also provided with Australian Maps. He has more than 1 unit. here is the link http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/naviandbm...1&_ipg=&_from= Last edited by naynay; 11-25-2013 at 04:09 AM.. |

Keep us update please. Been thinking to do this for long long time, but I couldn't find any one in Sydney can do the install for me. I'd be very interested to buy the other set from the seller

According to the seller. Coding is not required because theres some sort of bypass module. but i will reconfirm once i've installed it. but coding is only about $50 anyway

Interesting indeed, I just heard about this the other night from ink_
And had to see it for myself so I started to search for this very topic. Keen to understand and see how you go with the installation etc. Keep us posted. $1,600 is hell of a good buy. |

Oh ok, keep us posted when you get it, I thought AU Customs would hold your goods if valued declared over $1000, so you pay Duty on top of that before they release it

Hey Bud,
Did you order the CIC Upgrade kit? Like you I have a pre LCI E9X and am looking for an upgrade to the LCI screen and OS.. did your TV module carry over? And thoughts on the effort required? Did you have the seller preinstall the maps and have it pre-coded to your car? Sorry for all the questions, but it seams that you are the first to get this upgrade sorted on the AU forums! Cheers Chris

HEY SUFF!
tv did carry over. everything was there. after you paid for the item, he asks you for your vin and features that you have on your car and he codes everything onto the CIC including our region maps. installation was a breeze. 1. disconnect the negative battery terminal. 2. remove the dash trim with a cloth and a flat head screw driver if u dont have the removal tools. 3. re pin the CCC display power cable to the provided plug. (i can give you more insight if u want) 4. take out the CCC unit and replace it with the CIC. 5. reconnect everything and you're done! it seriously took me about an hr because i was fucking around like walking in and out of the house cause i had guests over. but you should be able to do it in 30-45 mins |
