I totally get it, I know exactly how extensive mods go.... never as planned haha
so for the C&C is it just the three? we should do a pre meet so we can roll in together and not have to worry about saving spots.. there are a few places on the way and easy to get to. |

Yes, it seems it is just 3 of us with Ds going but my right next door neighbor with a really nice 550M is also coming and possibly another neighbor with a Corvette. BB_Cuda, I'm down for a Galveston trip, I wont be able to do it the weekend of July 15-16th but I should be able to the weekend after that.. hopefully your car is up and running by then. |

How's the car coming along? Any chance it will be ready the weekend of july 22-23? Perhaps plan another mini-meet in the area? |

I'm all done 👍. I had a minor misunderstanding of alignment specs and had to back to dealer today. 1.5 deg is not 1 deg 50'. The tech was doing this. 1.5 deg is 1 deg 30'.
Other thing was total toe was spec'd to 3/16". The machine at dealer only did angle for the rear toe. I found an online calculator that converts the linear dimension if you have rear tire diameter. https://robrobinette.com/ConvertToeInchesToDegrees.htm I input 0.1875 for total toe and 25.0 for rear tire (255/35R18 PSS). That's the Michelin spec. Out popped 0.429 deg total or 0.215 deg per side. Pretty neat. We had to convert the decimal angles to minutes. 12.9 minute per side and 25.8 minutes total. Tech was happy and understood. I did some simple trig and verified the website too. Look at the picture on the site and then it all makes sense. I have a picture of all of the parts I changed out. I will add it in a bit later as I can't do this from phone. Last edited by BB_cuda; 07-14-2017 at 10:48 PM.. |

Photoguy87 can't come on 7/22 due to an out of town trip. I'm normally quite busy with church and family stuff on Sundays so 7/23 doesn't work for me. Also, reminder that following Saturday 7/29 I have family coming into town. If only 2 of us on 7/22, maybe we should wait until we have a better quorum.

I should be able to make something workout, but for the next few months I will have a full schedule on the weekends...
I think as long as it is not too late in the afternoon I should be able to make it work.. |

Would love to link up before the semester starts up again. Depending on when my girlfriend is moving into her apartment I should be able to make an August 19th meetup.

Any reason we are sliding so far out in time? My only constraint would be the meet to be on a Saturday. I am good for Sat 8/5 if you want to bring it in closer. As for 8/19, I know of no constraint right now but 4 Saturdays away so things can pop up family, car issues, etc.
Earlier in the thread, we had talked about down south like Galveston or something. Are you guys still receptive to that? I know only Thecastle and I live real far south so we can talk of a more central meetup like somewhere around the museum district close to Hermann Park. |

Man, I feel bad not making it to the July 7th one now. You're going to be busy and I understand having to hold off until 8/19. So sorry. I worked on the thing for like 3 weeks straight other than I didn't do any work on July 4th.

Going: Torqu3, PhotoGuy87, DieselDemon, BB_cuda
Maybe: 335stoner I traded PMs with DieselDemon. Seems a lot of you are up north. I had originally proposed the next meet in Galveston but know that causes some of you to travel 70 to 100 miles (Torqu3 from Aggieland) or more. So, I was thinking of a central Houston meetup. I don't know if Discovery Green works, downtown. Perhaps Herman Park although a Saturday by the zoo could be a "zoo", pun intended. Perhaps, someone knows of another park that is central. Parks that I know of are way down south in Clear Lake so not worth mention. I would like to trade rides (where we both ride together in 1st car and then same in 2nd car) with someone that has an OEM sport/msport suspension. Sport/m-sport are same in this regard. I want to compare to my now converted to M3 suspension (but not exactly). In some regards, its more than M3 (powerflex subrame and diff bushings, VWetish lockdown kit, 440 lb/in F and 550 lb/in R springs, adjustable koni sports, adjustable toe links), same as M3 (sway bars, front tension, wishbone, rear guide, rear upper, rear camber links), less than M3 (335 front struts, hubs, front subframe, Wavetrac LSD instead of E9X M3 disc type). Equally, some of you have the different transmission programming that I don't. I'd like to do side by side compare there. I know some will want to spend a little time looking underneath my ride for Cuda only mods (trans pan, spare under trunk, nearly open custom exhaust). I can meet longer than 8-10 am. I do like idea of early start since August in Houston can be a flame thrower. A place with shade sounds good. Other ideas of what we do, lets talk about it. |

I have work in Aggieland at 1:30 on the 19th. So as long as I have enough time to make it from wherever we are back to work then I'll stay as long as possible. I also have M-Sport suspension, but I'm approaching 95k miles and my suspension is completely dead. It's really not that fun. I'll have new stuff coming in early September.
Swirl flaps and possibly a little intake manifold cleaning is in order for tomorrow so I should be in good shape. Drag races at Texas World Speedway on the 18th 5-10pm as well if anyone wants to come out. |
