VRSF catted downpipe on E93

I purchased the more expensive high flow catted downpipe since I have a convertible. Has anyone done the same and had bad smell issues?

Just looking for feedback before I tear into taking the OEM cat off.

I got the VRFS catless downpipe. Beforehand, I was really worried about what the smell would be like. It was stinky for the first 1 - 2 weeks after install, but didn't smell any worse than stock after that. I don't think it was that I got used to the smell, I think the pipe off-gasses something initially - not sure if it's the ceramic coating, or new gaskets or something, but it definately started out stinky, and then the funk went away.

Should be a little better than cat-less but I wouldn't expect it to perform as well as a oem cat. If you still have your secondary's in place it may be good enough.

I'm one week in on the VRSF catted downpipe.

First day: You can definitely smell the exhaust gas outside the vehicle. Inside, very minimal.

I got good news though. As of right now, the smell is not as pungent from the beginning.

FYI, my CEL came on even though it's catted. I just installed MHD (stock 0) and there's an option on there for a fix.

I also have the catted VRSF DP on 2011 e92 335i. Agree that there is some smell when it is freshly installed but it has fully gone away for me after a few months. There was also a little white smoke coming out of the exhaust at first but this also went away.

Very happy with mine. I only notice the smell when backed into the garage.
