Got an odd humming noise from the 330d this evening - noticed it just after I'd brimmed it with BP's finest.

It doesn't seem to be coming from the engine bay at all, the loudest point is outside the drivers door, not as loud from passenger side. Its loud enough to notice in the cabin at idle.

I've had a good luck around just now and cant see anything out of place at all, no leak or anything. Taken it for a quick open throttle blast and the noise is there when you stop - definitely wasn't there this morning. It sort of sounds a bit like a fridge when it's whirring away if that helps?

It's present both in gear (auto) and in park. It does change pitch when gentle throttle is applied, then goes back to a solid 'whiiiirrrrrrrrr'.

can only think of tensioners/aux belts etc,,get a scope on bearings etc
