320d M47 Fuel Filter O-Ring

Hi all,

After investigating a diesel puddle under my 320d M47 engine, I removed the fuel filter to find that the small o-ring between the filter and the heating element has perished and isn't sealing.

Does anyone know the spec of this particular o-ring so I can find a new one?
I tried a box of plumbing o-rings from my DIY store, but none are the correct size, the walls of the plumbing rings are too thick.

I'd hate to have to buy a new heater element just for the o-ring.
Or do they come with a new filter?

Also, does anyone know at what point the fuel consumption is calculated? Fuel entering the engine? or fuel leaving the tank?

Have you tried looking on realoem? You'll just need to input the last 7 digits of your vin and you can explore all the different parts and from there you'll be able to see if you can get a part number for the o-ring

I ended up buying a MGA diesel filter which came with the flat seal and small o-ring.
Fixed the leak and ticked off a service item for another year.
