PROGMAN 25.00.03 Released!
Based upon all of the problems that members seem to be having with the latest Progman 25 update, I shot an email to my service advisor in preparation for a scheduled service visit this weekend.
My Service Advisor at BMW of Towson (Maryland) just responded to my queries about the problems with Progman 25.00.XX with the following: "There is actually a .03 update that is available. This takes care of all your issues. You are all set up for Saturday, let me know if there are any problems." I drop my wife's car off on Saturday for a Monday service (Progman update for emissions recall), MP3 Patch, B-Pillar ticking, 10K Oil change) and am keeping my fingers crossed that 25.00.03 is problem-free! Hope this info is helpful to all of those who are suffering under Progman 25. Mike

Thanks for the info.
I got a bang sign for the microfilter change and will probably bring my car in after I make sure this update is problem-free.

This is great news, the only thing better than this would be .04 coming out on 17 April, when my baby is conceived.

I would love this as well, mine goes in Monday and always helps the service center know my expectations of what I would like done.
Shame that we lost that alldata.com site that always posted all bulletins for all lines of BMW's. Wished someone else would set that up and allowed us to surf them all without paying BMW for access to TSB.

If you got v25.00.00, .02, or .03, would it take another 4-6 hours to update to the next .xx version? Or is it like a quick 10-30 min. update since you already have the v25 s/w???

Haven't these people ever heard of test plans and beta tests? Seems to me that about third or fourth thing you'd test on this car would be voice commands. Yeesh!
(I once wrote up a test plan for my dealer when I was having problems with the stereo in my '00 540i/6. When I got the car back, the FIRST THING on the list didn't work right...so that was the last time I ever went there. They not only lost the service biz on that car, they also lost the sale of the M5 and 335i that have followed.)

That sounds like to many version updates in so little time. Looks like the techs at BMW are patching and patching. Techs at dealerships must be starting to complain. Mine is going in on the 17th for oil change, nav arrow update and perma plate yearly application.

I would definitely like to know since I got the 25.00.02 s/w update; my pop-up arrows are now working and it seems to working faster, but my RTTI is NOW BROKEN. It registers the Clear Channel stations, but it can't find any TI messages!

Who at BMW of Towson told you that? My wife's car is scheduled for the .03 flash on Monday, so we may want to hold off a few days. Please do post back with the results of your .03 flash. Mike

BMW of Bel Air not Towson. Same ownership group. Well...got a call and 25.00.03 has broken my VR but they are waiting on an 'enabling code' to fix it. I will get more info but it sounds like me that it simply needs to be reset with a download from the Fatherland which are only done at night. So I get a loaner. I'm going to shoot for the black M6. I'll let you know.

Update. Yes the car was loaded with 25.00.03
When this is done, they use enabling codes which are on a DVD to turn features on - in my case, the VR. For some reason the code for my car (not sure it that means all 06 330s or my actual individual car) was not on the DVD so they have to get an overnight download.

SUBJECT CCC: Enabling Code (FSC) Required for Voice Recognition System MODEL E90, E91, E92, E93 (3 Series) with CCC Navigation (SA 609) E60, E61 (5 Series) with CCC Navigation (SA 609) E63, E64 (6 Series) E70 (X5) with CCC Navigation (SA 609) Vehicles produced up to March 2007 SITUATION Progman V25.00.00 or higher prompts the importing of an enabling code during programming. Loss of Voice Recognition System (SVS SA 620) functions after programming with Progman V25.00.00 or higher. CAUSE Enabling codes (FSC) make it possible to link special functions to a vehicle. Without these enabling codes these functions will not operate. In this specific case, the enabling codes must be imported any time the Car Communication Computer (CCC) is programmed in order to ensure that SVS is functioning properly. If the enabling codes are not imported during the programming procedure, the SVS function will not be available. PROCEDURE A special DVD (labeled "FSC" V 1.0) is supplied together with the Progman V25 DVD set. The enabling codes contained on this DVD are for all vehicles with CCC and SVS. After Progman has been installed on the SSS, place the FSC DVD into the DVD drive and leave it there. This will ensure that the enabling codes are available for every Progman session as needed. Refer to the "Procedure" attachment which outlines the procedure on how to import the enabling codes with the SSS. If an enabling code is not provided following this procedure, refer to the "Parts" information attached to this service information

So to avoid troublefree upgrade, I should ask them to update to 25.003 and then make sure they upload the enabling codes, correct? I am not taking in my car for service until beginning of May, just want to be sure. Thanks
