PM OBD monitor not ready

Hey guys,

I replaced my battery so all the monitors reset. I have all my emissions equipment running and i need to smog my car, but its been about 600 miles and i can't seem to get the PM monitor ready (assuming its the particulate matter DPF monitor).

Can i use ISTA to request a driving regeneration or is this something that needs to naturally do it on its own?

Well to answer my own question I requested a driving regeneration with ISTA and did about 30 miles of driving and everything is ready! Just passed my smog inspection.

Did you request the regen while driving? If so, how long were you driving before you requested it? Was the car hot enough? I've heard and read it can be dangerous to do it without the right conditions.

Also, how do you know the monitor isn't ready? Are you able to view it yourself? How are you viewing it? Thanks

I requested the regen using my friends ISTA software and drove the car for about 40 minutes straight and later that day all monitors were ready when I checked using a standard obd2 code reader. The car does the regen when it meets the requirements I can't remember what exactly, but ISTA details it out for you..... I wouldn't worry about any dangers it's just like any other self regen.
