Hello Fellow enthusiasts,
Long time follower, first time posting. I've been researching a lot about 335i's in this forum. However, I still would really like to get one. I found this at craigslist.

"This is a 2008 BMW 335i in alpine white with black dakota leather. This car is pretty much loaded with navi, memory seats, rear Park distance control, bluetooth, CD and IPOD connectivity. There are some extras included: black grills, rear M-Sport bumper, carbon fiber mirror covers, carbon fiber rear spoiler, 4 inch exhaust tips, front splitters, lowered with H&R springs, clear bra, and 7 year paint protection from BMW. Drives great and gets lots of compliments. The extended 100,000 mile warranty just expired and I had bmw replace the oil pump, fuel pump, water pump and radiator so this car is good to go for quite some time. Mileage is 100,700. Interior and exterior is very clean"


Is this an ok deal or should I just wait for less mileage? The turbo's has not been changed but seems like the other things has been. Should I even negotiate it down?

wait. IMO look for a low milage one. at that price you could easily get <70k.

It seems like everyone is selling their e90 to get f30. F30 are sweet, and make e90 look a bit outdated. its great car still, however F30 with adjustable suspension and 8 speed sports ZF transmission + front styling is awesome, more alive and agressive!
I wish i could afford one right now, but i need a car right now

I would look for one with lower mileage or negotiate with this seller for a lower price. F30 design doesn't seem as good looking to me as e90's, but that's personal preference.

I was able to negotiate down to 16k. I really like his aftermarket external mods.
Even If I get a lower mileage one say at 60-70k, it can easily reach 100k in 1-2 years. Just concerned about the turbo's. I know it cost around 5k for a rebuilt.

upgraded RB turbos are 3k. I'm sure labor can be found for less. Or free if you can do it yourself. 5k for the new turbos in ridiculous but it is what dealers sell it for. Each OEM turbo is around 1300 dollars. that 2600. For 400 more, you get bigger turbos with lifetime warrantied wastegates.

anyways, can you get a history on the car? It may already have the turbos replaced.

If it's properly maintained, I wouldn't worry about it having 100k. Half the forum here poop their pants and sell their cars when their warranty runs out which I find ridiculous. They expect twin turbo german power and comfort with the maintenance schedule and cost of a corolla. If you're willing to accept the higher price for the higher performance maintenance wise than buy it They require work as often as many other cars, it just costs a bit more to do it.

For every forum member here complaining, there is probably 10 normal owners that don't know what a forum is who has never had a problem with their car. Nature of the beast of forums.

I say if you like it, buy it!

GOOD POINT. I generally fix my own cars (I currently have e36 m3). But with this, it's newer tech. I may have to bring it in the shop to fix if needed. Tempting....

If you are really considering the car then check carfax report and bring the car to get inspected. Make sure to check for water or electrical damage/ issues.

To me it sounds like that car was beat on and it has 4 doors. I also don't see where the manual transmission is listed.

It prob had engine mods but he got smart and took them off before latest service or before it went for sale. Pass

FYI.
I had a 2009 e90 and 2011 e92 335i 6speed man back wheel drive.
I now have an XDrive F30, still 6 speed man and i'm somewhat disappointed.

the 335 e90-e92 is the best model to have.
The steering feels a lot better than the f30, the centre of gravity feels lower... its more rough but a lot more fun to drive.

My new f30 feels goofy and heavy (i guess because of AWD) and the worse part for me is it feels really soft... even in sport mode.
I have to say the F30 is much more comfortable to drive...

If i had to chose again, i would go back with the e92 rear wheel drive,
(and would stay home whenever we get heavy snow storms like i did in the past

Personally I would not buy any car with 100k miles unless it was super cheap or really old (classic).

BUT I'm sure you've done your research in terms of what you can get with your budget, so if this car is reasonable in terms of price vs mileage to you then go for it

2010/11 E90/92 is probably the most solid used car in the 3 series lineup for options/reliability ect.

Although that's just IMO.

With everything I paid around $33k (taxes, etc) for a 2011 E92 335xi coupe thats pretty much fully loaded and had 25k miles on it. So no this is not a good deal.

E90-E92 are better than f30-f32 if your looking for sportiness. Look for low miles and try to find Post LCI.

If you have a bigger budget than $18K, I would try to find a 09+ E90 LCI. If not then try to knock another $1K off although $16K is not bad if he has proof of all service done to the car.
