I want it but too pricey for me, but still below what similar wagons have sold for on BaT.

$20,500! Someone snuck in at the last minute. I went to $17, but with fees, etc. just decided to back out. Rare car and the owner seems like a great guy. Go read the story from the buyer. He knew the original owner and is bringing it back to San Diego for himself.
What a steal!!

I was watching and almost submitted a bid in the last few minutes at $20,500. I held off because I'm moving to a snowier part of Colorado, and it's unclear how well RWD will work in the snow on my future sloped driveway. But it's great to read that the Buyer had known this car from a previous owner - sounds like the car found the right home.

I've been semi-looking for a E91 and this one almost made me move as it's the right combo of what I want. I really shouldn't buy another car right now so hope someone gets on this ASAP and sends me fun pics post purchase.
Yep, that is in my inventory (or was). It is an xDrive but one of the badges was chipped so I removed both from the fenders. Very clean car and zero rust.

I must have undervalued it a little as I sold it an hour later. Was it to any of you guys here?

Oddly enough this car was literally a carbon copy to the other Tasman I sold even down to the year and mileage. This one is better optioned though with h/k sound, parking sensors, alarm and comfort access.

It's a $25-30k car in well sorted condition I think. It def needed a few grand in deferred maintenance with the oil pan gasket and other odds and ends. $20k plus fees and transportation seems like a reasonable price for buyer and seller. I can't see these dipping into sub-$20k territory given the rarity and lack of modern options unless it's a high mileage or needs a lot to get it into solid shape.

Really neat to see it headed back to San Diego. A friend of mine who has a white M Sport used to see it when he worked for Intuit, I wonder if it's the same car.

In any case, I hope the buyer joins E90post. It would be neat to make contact and meet up when I visit my parents in San Diego. There's a handful of cool wagons in my old neck of the woods!

A month ago I saw this wagon and thought 'They are crazy with that price.' Maybe not so much after seeing today's sale on Cars and Bids. Could be a nice car for someone - BIGGNS ?

2011 BMW 328 XDrive, 6MT, nice blue (not sure which BMW blue it is) with great dark tan interior.

If willing to go automatic - this car is not bad and I think the price seems right...

2009 328 XDrive, M Sport Package, 97,000 miles, Black metallic.

https://ebay.us/hLCkwO

Only a $69 processing fee - so they aren't going to try to gouge you with some $1,000 processing fee. I have not bought from them but their Ebay scores look decent.

You must be new around these parts

Nice example but likely won't demand as high of a sale price as it's a Sport Package (not M Sport) Northeast car and has xDrive, which can be a significant pro or con depending on buyer. Not a "unicorn" in most people's opinion but fantastic specs and color combination.

I've been watching the E91 market like a hawk for 5-6 years and the examples that sell at the top of the range are M Sport 6MT or super low mileage 6MT cars. There were ~450 RWD 6MT E91s built and of those 48 were 6MT RWD M Sports. People, including myself, will pay the premium for the more uncommon "unicorn" spec.

That black car you posted has been for sale for quite some time and has been posted previously here by a couple people.

What do you think a 6MT conversion would do to the value? M Sport, RWD + 6MT conversion? I would assume that wouldn't fetch nearly the value of a true 6MT?

I'm here

I honestly never thought I would see this car again until it popped up on the auction last week. This is the perfect spec E91 to me and a true unicorn as others have said. Will be selling my wife's somewhat rare B8 A4 Avant S-Line to make room in the garage for the E91. I'll post a intro thread when it arrives.

Congratulations! One question: will you be driving the E91 or your wife? If your wife, I give you props!

Congrats on the score! Looks like a pretty good deal at $20.5K. That Audi is a pretty slick car too! Was it not manual? Did they even make any manuals? I came from a B7 A4 2.0T FWD 6MT. Loved it, super fun to drive and very sharp looking.

I don't think a properly done conversion would take too much of a hit. You can do a conversion with the bare minimum or try to make it as factory as possible.

Where is biggn? I quoted him here about this auction expecting him to chime in. He did what I thought was intended to be knockout bid and then lost it over $500!

Eager to hear his commentary here!

Sometimes you have to set a limit. I'm sure that is all it was. Bidding can get emotional to say the least.

Well played sir. One bid, one win!

Glad it went to an enthusiast who appreciates it and will post here. If you ever decide to sell, you know where to find me!

But seriously, I love that concept sketch and would pay money to add it to my collection. PM me if you’re interested.

In other news, Crimson xDrive with lower miles. Black Sensatec looks brand new and has pre-LCI xenons. Pics are terrible but could be a nice find

I agree with rjaudi. I think a properly done conversion like a 6MT swap to a factory M Sport would command the same.

The other option is a full swap of bumpers, side skirts, headliner, gloss shadowline window and mirrors, steering wheel (and seats if necessary) to a 6MT car. Most people seem to swap the bumpers and call it a day. The headliner with associated bits and gloss trim are quite expensive and not easily available second hand. It's at least easier to find a car this way with your preferred color combo with other options. The gloss shadowline really makes my black car pop compared to the dull shadowline on my other e91.

I weighed the prospect of building one vs. buying one when I made the switch from my e82 3 years ago. I was lazy and bought one. I have a black on black but my absolute favorite combinations are Alpine on Saddle and LeMans on Saddle. Black cars always seem to find me

Thx for the input. I was lucky to find my color combo in this thread from Bret a few months ago, and super bonus, it's an M Sport. So in one shot, I got everything except the 6MT. Will likely go with the swap sometime this year.

Alpine on beige is unusual combined with M Sport. Great find if that’s what you were after. Add a third pedal and you’re golden!

At the end of the day they’re just cars. I bought mine to drive and enjoy, it’s just a bonus as far as I’m concerned if the resale is high. I ordered a 6MT M Sport e92, then bought the same in e82 form and then e91. Nice to know I won’t take a bath if I decide to sell one day.
