Show me your hard wired radar detector mount setup!
Like the title says, I am looking for options for a hardwired radar detector mount. I've got a Uniden R3, the power cord goes in on the left and it's really annoying draping over the dash.

Don't have a pic but I run a blendmount w/ mirror taps. RD sits right under the rearview mirror and the taps run up under the front of the headliner and up to the roof module. Infinitely cleaner than the usually windshield mount + cig lighter power cord.

This is the one I was looking at. Seems like it is worth it.

The mount is very high quality. No play in it at all with the bolts tightened, doesn't hit the clown nose, and looks as close to factory as you can get with an RD mount. $$$ tho, is if the stock mount doesn't bother you I'd skip the blend mount.
The mirror taps are 1000% worth dropping money on. Super easy to install and gets rid of that godawful cable dangling down from the dash. Just make sure to get the longest version they offer (20" I believe). The 15" cord they recommend was barely long enough to reach my R3 and the taps ended up breaking on me. |

If you do order them, positive goes in the green wire with the white strip on the left side and ground goes into the solid brown wire on the right. The taps will be doing a hell of a split but it works. Just zip tie them down and you'll be fine. |
